Through ministries like our Sunday soup kitchen, our weekday food pantry, and our summer day camp for children of the community, we use the skills and energy God gives to share God’s love and help those in need. God of compassion and mercy, we pause on this solemn day to remember the lives lost on September 11, 2001.

We hold in our hearts the families and friends who still grieve. We give thanks for the profound courage of the first responders and everyday heroes who ran toward danger. Heal the physical and invisible scars of survivors and our shaken nation.

Lord, turn our hearts away from fear and division. Make us instruments of your peace, and let love overcome hatred, now and forever. AMEN.
