First staff meeting in Stamford! The week before our Dedication Service the team filled the space with praise, confession, reflection, anointing, and adoration of our sovereign King. Not our will, but yours, be done Lord.

What does it feel like to be waved off by someone busy or important, versus being welcomed in even when you're inconvenient? Where others saw interruption, Jesus saw the kingdom. Parents kept bringing children to him, the disciples kept turning them away, and Jesus kept gathering them into his arms. The kingdom of God belongs not to the powerful but to those who come with open hands and simple trust.

"But when Jesus saw it, he was indignant and said to them, “Let the children come to me; do not hinder them, for to such belongs the kingdom of God. Truly, I say to you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God like a child shall not enter it.” And he took them in his arms and blessed them." (Mark 10:14–16)

"Who shall ascend the hill of the LORD? And who shall stand in his holy place? He who has clean hands and a pure heart...Such is the generation of those who seek him, who seek the face of the God of Jacob. Lift up your heads, O gates! And be lifted up, O ancient doors, that the King of glory may come in." (Psalm 24:3-4, 6-7)

"Look upon the goodness of the LORD in the land of the living!" (Psalm 27:13) Come and celebrate Sunday at 5 PM at 252 Atlantic Street in Stamford. Our Campus Dedication Service, and launch of weekly worship, will be followed by an after-party, and doors open at 4 PM for prayer. Stanwich Church, alive for nearly 300 years as one of the oldest continuous congregations in the US, is joining in with the work that God has been doing in this city for decades. May we glorify God by participating in his kingdom advancement here on earth.

On Missions Sunday, we heard from our missions partners of Jesus moving from person to person and place to place in their mission field. Jesus continues to make himself known through a group of ordinary people learning to proclaim and demonstrate the good news of the kingdom. Paul later calls the feet of those who carry that news “beautiful.”

"How then will they call on him in whom they have not believed? And how are they to believe in him of whom they have never heard? And how are they to hear without someone preaching? And how are they to preach unless they are sent? As it is written, “How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the good news!”" (Romans 10:14–15)

Getting the nursery ready at the Stamford Campus! We are passionate about the next generation and their part in our intergenerational family. Ongoing weekly Sunday worship at 5 PM begins this weekend with our Stamford Campus Dedication Service. Nursery is provided, and doors open at 4 PM for pre-service prayer.
