On Febuary 25, 1891 William Roberson was born to Issac Humphery and Mary Roberson in the tar hill state of North Carolina. His mother died when he was an infant and was reared by his mother's brother Mitchell and Mango Roberson nad was given his mother's maiden name. Growning up in the late 1800's he was given very little oppritunity to attend school. Only recieving a third
grade education, he had to leave school to help support the family and himself. To thier union 10 children were born (5) girls and (5) boys. She had two brothers and two sisters Maggie and Louvenia. while providing for his family as a charecropper, William recieved a call of God to preach the gospel of Jeus Christ. Attending the Aferican Methodist Episcopal Church he believed inhis heart that God was calling him to a greater work. Departing from A.M.E. he became affiliated with Mount Zion Holiness Church of God founded by Jesus Christ. Realizing the call on his life Bishop J.P. Gaddy ordained and sent him to Pastor the Crumberly Hill Church in Elizabethtown, N.C. until his health began to fail. The legacy of William Roberson lives. Upon his death in 1975 generations were on the horizon. With 50 grandchildren and 100 great grandchildren the name of this Christian fellowship was pressed upon my heart to honor the legacy and heritage of William Roberson and the life he lived as a preacher of the gospel of Jesus Christ; was establised September 4, 2012. God honors Christian families. The generations to follow who were given the last name after William Roberson was incorrectly spelled (Robinson) at birth and was never legally corrected. However, the foundation of a rich heritage, as well as the purpouse, plan and will of God was and is being passed down from generation to generation. At present there are 5 generations among the Roberson family and yet growing. Within these 5 generations there are: (1) Bishop, (3) Pastors and among them (1) Presiding Elder, (11 Ordained Ministers, and (4) Ministers who have acknowledged thier call to preach the gospel.
