01/01/2024
To all of our family and friends. As we come to an end of another year in the books for us, I suspect that many of us had no idea what the year 2023 would bring for us; some joy, and some sorrows.
Honestly, nor do we have any idea what 2024 will bring us. But here’s to a New Year of 2024, and may happiness be all around you.
We truly wish you all the best to come; but more importantly, as you share this year with a loved one, may you share it with a commitment for the first time, a recommitment, or maybe even a return to Jesus, the Keeper of your soul. Trust in Him, for your life depends on it. (Rom 3:10; 3:23; 6:23; 10:9; 10:13)
Many of us understand more clearly that life is just a v***r (James 4:14); 70, 80, or 90 years goes by much faster as we get older. Some haven’t come to that realization yet, but they will. The length of those years is nothing compared to eternity. Yet we spend so much time during those years doing things that we wish we can take back, or regret, or do over, and we hardly spend time (if any) focusing on “what happens to us after we die”, except at funerals. Don’t wait for the next funeral of a loved one to ponder the issue.
May your start of a new year begin in a relationship with Jesus. Trust in Him, as He will never forsake you.
He loves us so much. He wants to spend eternity with us (that’s a lot longer than 90 years!); in spite of what we have ever done, nor what we will ever do - this will never change the love that He has for you and I (John 3:16). Trust Jesus and give your life over to Him; you have nothing to lose, but everything to gain.
Love you all,
David & Julie (42 years+)
