In this clip from Episode 7 of Catholic Actually, Bishop Jeff offers a reassuring perspective. While everyone experiences lonely days, he shares that throughout his priesthood, he has never truly been lonely because of the deep connections and friendships he has formed. God doesn't call priests to isolation; He calls them to be friends.

The Church is not a building; it is the people of God.

This weekend, Bishop Jeff and Fr. Akama gathered with the faithful of Our Lady of Lourdes for Sunday Mass at the Poplar Cultural Center. Following the devastating fire that destroyed their parish church last Tuesday, this resilient community came together to pray, worship, and support one another.

The liturgy reflected the rich spirit and traditions of the Fort Peck community, with a star quilt gracing the altar and traditional drumming during the celebration. Though the physical building and its stained glass windows were lost, the faith and unity of the Poplar community remain unbroken.

Please continue to keep Fr. Akama and the parishioners of Our Lady of Lourdes in your prayers!
