Solid Rock Church of God held its final summer gathering for the womens ministry; T-2.4.

"T-2.4", stands for Titus 2:4; where Paul encourages the older women to teach the younger women to be keepers of the home and how to love their husbands and children.

Today we had a great time harvesting sweet basil from the garden, preparing it for laying on the screens and placing them in the dehydrator!

Thanks Ladies for doing all the work!!!

We covered a lot of methods of food preservation: Freeze Drying, Nitrogen packing, Pressure & Water-bath canning, vacuum and oxygen absorber packing, and dehydration.

A challenging game of Bingo tested everyone's knowledge of the tools and methods we covered.

The high point of the day was digging into God's Word, the Bible.
We discovered the parallel between the seasons a garden plant goes through; all the way from seeds to the preservation of the fruit.

Our lives are similar- from our salvation in Jesus; to Him wiping our dirt away...to how He cuts, prunes and yes... even allows "the heat" to enter our lives to purify us! All for one purpose: so we are transformed to act and be more like Jesus and so we can "dish out" the good news to others who are hungry and thirsty for God to change their lives!

We had a great time learning practical & rewarding ways to serve our families; as well as the goodness of the Lord in changing us!

Solid Rock's women's ministry, T-2.4; had a wonderful time today.

T-2.4 stands for Titus 2:4.

To fulfill a portion of that scripture, it states:
"the older women are to teach the younger women" (and those young at heart) , how to be "keepers of the home".

The younger women's desire was to learn some home-making skills that are beginning to be lost to the younger generation.

So, the day was spent selecting fabric, pinning patterns and sitting at sewing machines making pot holders for the kitchen!

During lunch break we talked about how the Lord gives us "patterns" in His Word to follow. Following his ways produces good fruit in our lives.

We discovered that it's Just like laying the pattern on the fabric and following the instructions, produced a fun and functional house-hold item.

Our August "Skilled Women of the Home" event; will be all about gardening and preserving the harvest the Lord has provided!!
