Faith Presbyterian Church - OPC Worship 10:30 am Sundays
We meet inside the Grand Cities Mall next to the indoor playground. Pastor: Rev. Christopher D. Drew

We believe in a vibrant personal relationship with Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. We also believe that Scripture interprets Scripture, and desire to continue to deepen our faith through the teaching of historical Biblical truths.

The Christ of whom this psalm shouts is both the King and also God, who alone is perfectly just and perfectly righteous, who makes his children righteous, and who pledges to watch over them, protect them, and keep them as his own forever.

"Grant to the royal Son, O God, your justice, that is, your perfect judgment, the attribute of deciding all matters in a perfect manner, because you have all wisdom and knowledge of all the conditions and attributes of your people. You know every secret of our hearts. You know every single unspoken thought and motive. Because nothing can be hidden from you, you are able to adjudicate every single case of injustice perfectly."

"The psalmist prays to not be forsaken in his old age. Why? 'Until I proclaim your might to another generation, your power to all those to come.' Older saints in the church have, by precept and example, a pattern established in Scripture which charges those who are older, who are superiors by dint of their age, to tell of Christ’s mighty deeds of salvation to those who are younger, to another generation … to all those to come. God uses means, and you are among those means."

Christians must take refuge in the Lord and the Lord only. And we must obey our Lord’s admonition to cast off those things which take the place of God as our sole refuge. What are you dependent upon that isn’t God? Jesus has forceful words about those things which cause us to sin, and yes, looking for rescue and refuge from anything or anyone other than God is sin? Why, because when we do that, we are not acting by faith in the one who has redeemed us, and whatever does not proceed from faith is sin.

"The Christian life is not marked by a dismal pessimism, but is aflame with a Holy Spirit-sparked fire of assurance and hope for an eternal future with Christ. It’s a life alive in Christ and empowered by his Spirit to pursue righteousness in obedience to his perfect Word. One who is alive in Christ is one who longs to sing each Sunday in church: God is Great. Great is the Lord and greatly to be praised!"
