Happy Pentecost Sunday from Kingsway Christian Church!

Today, many people wear red to celebrate Pentecost — the day the Holy Spirit came upon the apostles like “tongues of fire” in Acts 2. Red symbolizes the fire, power, passion, and presence of the Holy Spirit, as well as the birth of the Church and the spreading of God’s love to the world.

Whether you’re dressed in bright red or sporting a trusty raincoat, may your heart be filled with joy, hope, and the Spirit’s presence today!

Service begins at 10:30 AM in the beautiful Schaeffer Memorial Chapel.

On Luke’s hat is a special pin — a tiny gold caterpillar.
Pastor Ryan recently learned why this small symbol represents such an enormous part of Luke McLaurine’s life.

As a World War II B-24 bombardier shot down over Austria, Luke survived by parachuting from his disabled aircraft, earning membership in the Caterpillar Club — an honor reserved for those whose lives were saved by a silk parachute. 🇺🇸

Join us in the Fellowship Hall at 5:00 PM for our Fellowship Dinner featuring a taco bar (because nothing brings people together like tacos).
After we eat, we’ll hear from one of our newest members, Chris Cullum, who has a job most of us have never even thought about—he’s one of just two people who buys natural gas for the city of Memphis. So if you like hot showers, warm homes, and cooked food…you might want to hear what he has to say!

We’ll wrap up the evening with choir rehearsal, but come for the food, stay for the fellowship, and maybe leave with a newfound appreciation for your thermostat.
