On June 13, 2026, the Episcopal Diocese of Long Island celebrated the ordination and reception of five new priests at the Cathedral of the Incarnation.

In his sermon, the Rt. Rev. Lawrence C. Provenzano addressed the ordinands directly on the realities, joy, and healthy boundaries of ordained ministry. Reflecting on the Gospel of the Good Shepherd , he reminded them that the priesthood is a lifelong sacramental identity, not just a standard career.

You can view the full sermon below.

Today was a joyful and holy day in the life of our diocese as Bishop Provenzano ordained Lisa Marie DeBenedittis, Aissa Hillebrand, Paula Andrea Kong-Sinclair, Robert F. Russo and and received Jiha Lim into the Priesthood at the Cathedral of the Incarnation.

We celebrate this sacred milestone and give thanks for the gifts they bring to Christ’s Church. May God bless them abundantly as they begin this new chapter of ministry. ✨🙏

Introducing our Juneteenth Jubilee preacher! 🎙️✨

We are pleased to announce that the Rt. Rev. Geralyn Wolf, Assistant Bishop of Long Island, will be preaching at our upcoming celebration on June 20th at 11:00 AM.

Bishop Wolf brings an extraordinary lifetime of ministry, justice, and leadership to the pulpit. From serving 17 years as the Bishop of Rhode Island to her deep, hands-on advocacy, she has dedicated her life to lifting up communities, fighting for the unhoused, and living out a deep commitment to justice.

Come hear her message as we gather at the Cathedral of the Incarnation to honor the 2026 Barbara C. Harris scholars and celebrate truth, faith, and community together.

🎟️ The event is free and open to the public, but registration is required.

Happy 45th Anniversary of Ordination to the Diaconate, Bishop Provenzano! 🎉

Forty-Five Years ago, then simply Larry, stood before the Church and answered a sacred call to the ministry of deacon. A call to servanthood to all people, particularly the poor, the weak, the sick, and the lonely.

In the years to come, he would become a priest, and later our diocesan bishop. We give thanks this day for now Bishop Provenzano’s decades of love, dedication, and service, spreading the word of God wherever he has gone. May the Holy Spirit continue to fill him with grace and power!

Love casts out fear. 🕊️❤️

As we celebrate Pride Month across our diocese, we are reminded of the powerful words of the Rt. Rev. Gene Robinson.

Consecrated in 2003 as the Eighth Bishop of New Hampshire, Bishop Robinson made history as the first openly gay, partnered man ordained to the episcopate in the Anglican Communion. His ministry has been a profound testament to courage, faith, and the ongoing journey toward full LGBTQ+ inclusion in the Church.

He reminds us that fear only creates more barriers—and as followers of Christ, we are called to break those barriers down.
