Knights of Columbus Bishop Baldwin Council #15809 – June Business Meeting 📣

Last night, our Council gathered for an evening of fellowship, recognition, and planning for the year ahead.

We were proud to recognize Brothers Hector Murphy and Zach De La Rosa on their recent exemplification into the Fourth Degree, joining the ranks of the Patriotic Degree and deepening their commitment to Faith, Family, and Service.

A special congratulations goes to Brother Hector and Debbie de Marchena who were honored as our “Family of the Year” in recognition of their sustained dedication, generosity, and service to our Council, parish, and community. Their example reminds us of the vital role families play in the mission of the Knights of Columbus.

The Council also conducted elections for the upcoming fraternal year. Congratulations to our incoming officers, led by Grand Knight Stephen Hassett. We thank all those who have stepped forward to serve and lead our Council in the year ahead.

Vivat Jesus! ⚔️🙏

Today, members of the Knights of Columbus joined the Garden City community in commemorating Memorial Day at Cluett Hall.

As we honor the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our nation, we also recognize the veterans, families, and community members who continue to keep their memory alive.

We are grateful to all who helped make today’s observance meaningful for our community. Special shout out to the William Bradford Turner American Legion Post #265 - Garden City, New York.

May we never forget the sacrifices made for our freedoms.

Recently, the Bishop Baldwin Council proudly donated two wheelchairs to the American Legion Auxiliary (William Bradford Turner Unit No. 265) in memory of Betty Erdos. We hope these wheelchairs will serve veterans and families in our community for years to come.

As Memorial Day approaches, we are reminded of the sacrifices made by the brave men and women who served our nation — and of our responsibility to honor their legacy through service to others.

The Knights of Columbus will also proudly participate in the upcoming Garden City Parade of Honor on Monday morning, May 25th. This year’s parade carries special significance as we celebrate the 250th birthday of our young nation. 🇺🇸

Brothers will receive additional information regarding parade logistics from Council leadership later this week.

Our first COR gathering is officially in the books.

Thank you to Brother Pat for his leadership in helping launch this effort and guiding a thoughtful evening of prayer, fraternity, and discussion among men of faith.

It was encouraging to see such a strong turnout and meaningful conversation at our very first meeting. We look forward to continuing to grow this group in the months ahead.

The next COR meeting will take place on June 9th. All Catholic men of the parish are welcome to attend.
