“Your servant has killed both the lion and the bear, so this uncircumcised Philistine will become like one of them—since he has defied the ranks of the living God.” Then David said, “Adonai, who has delivered me from the paw of the lion and from the paw of the bear, will deliver me from the hand of this Philistine.” “Go!” said Saul to David, “and may Adonai be with you.”” ‭‭1 Samuel‬ ‭17‬:‭36‬-‭37‬ ‭TLV‬‬

David didn’t randomly just show up one fine morning and kill Goliath. He had already tasted victory with the Lion and the Bear with the help of Adonai before there ever was a Goliath. The only difference - there was no one to sing songs of praises to David when he fought in secret. Yet he knew the Source of his victory and it taught him to trust Adonai more and only go after His delight! Fast forward to the “Battle in public.” David finds himself face to face with the giant and he mentally goes back to the same place he was at when he faced the Lion and the Bear. He had already made history with Adonai in those caves going after these wild animals. David’s private victories gave him the courage, determination, faith and fervor to go after the giant and ultimately receive the praise of all of Israel.

It’s the same with Worship - sometimes we have no history with God yet we crave for the praises of people more than His delight! When we find ourselves facing the enemy, we have no past victories to gain strength from. As Priests of the Lord, we are called to continually minister to Him. When we do this, not only do we bless His heart, but we also build history with Him! These moments of private Worship will bring much clarity, direction and victory when we are faced with giants in the public! The battle must be won in the Secret Place first. Lord, set us free from wanting the praises and approval of men and make us true Priests after Your heart!!

God is still raising up “Davids on the hillside” with a heart after Him! Their sound is unique and their song is pure. Our desire is to train and impart to these Psalmists what we have learned over the years. Whether you have been involved in Worship for years or for weeks, this is sure to bless you. Our theme for this year is - The Priesthood! Come and dive in with us as we let the Holy Spirit bring more revelation and guidance on what it means to minister to Adonai as a Kingdom of Priests!
