Trials test our faith and stretch our patience. They reveal areas of weakness and invite us to grow. As we respond with trust and perseverance, character develops, and our faith becomes steady.

Maturity, in its most basic sense, is how well we handle the trials and challenges life throws at us.

When something difficult comes your way, do you give up, grow bitter, or react in frustration? Or do you pause, reflect, and look for the lessons hidden in the struggle?

True growth happens when we respond thoughtfully rather than react impulsively.

So. What challenge today might be inviting you to grow a little more?

In this day and age, our hearts are constantly being drawn to something. But not everything that demands our attention deserves our worship.

One of our main jobs as followers of Christ is to notice what we’re giving our hearts to outside of God. Only then can we realign our focus and intentionally offer our worship to God in all of life’s circumstances.

Stop to think. Is there anywhere in your life right now, where you might be waging a quiet worship war today? How can you realign your heart to God in that area? Is there something you need to give up or practices to instill in order to do that?

Discipleship has always been about allowing God to shape our character from the inside out. But over the years, we’ve seen many leaders, in their desire to be faithful, striving to be “better” by following the rules and checking off boxes.

But the qualities above — love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control — are the true qualities of a life surrendered to God. And evidence of a life being transformed.

They’re gifts we cultivate as we walk closely with Him, respond to His guidance, and let His Spirit guide our hearts and actions.

Reflect for a moment: Have you neglected the quiet inner work with God for the outer work of productivity and success? Which of these fruits needs a little more cultivation from you today?

We know better than most that success, approval, or even ministry can quietly shift from being a blessing to being our master.

In this world of competing voices, even good things can take the wrong place in our lives, if they become the center of our attention or desires.

That’s why regular reflection and honest self-examination are so important — they help prevent good things from ruling our hearts in ways that harm us.

Discipleship isn’t just about what we do; it’s about what governs our hearts. True growth comes when we notice what has our attention, examine our desires, and allow God to reorder them.

Reflect today. What in your life might be quietly taking the place of God in your heart today?

It’s easy to think of worship as something that happens in a church or during a quiet moment of prayer. But this passage paints a much fuller picture. Worship is a whole-life response to God.

That includes our work.

The ordinary responsibilities we carry each day — showing up on time, doing our tasks with care, treating people with patience and respect, making thoughtful decisions — can all become expressions of worship when they’re offered to God.

When our minds are being renewed and our motives are aligned with Him, even everyday effort becomes something sacred.

And all work, offered to God, becomes worship.

From our time working with leaders over the years, we’ve seen that it’s all too easy to slip into “earning mode” without even realizing it.

We work hard to feel worthy, we serve to prove ourselves and we say yes out of fear that slowing down will disappoint God or people.

But faithful effort is very different from earning.

EARNING says: If I do enough, I’ll be enough.
FAITHFULNESS says: I’m already loved, so I’ll steward what’s in front of me well.

EARNING is anxious and never finished.
FAITHFULNESS is steady, present, and grounded in trust.

Take a moment and reflect. Are you in earning mode today? If so, how can you shift yourself back to a position of faithfulness?

Here are a few practicals:
• Doing the next right thing without obsessing over outcomes
• Letting obedience be enough, even if no one notices
• Resting without guilt
• Praying before pushing harder
• Serving from gratitude, not pressure

Save this post for the next time you need a reminder that you don’t need to earn anything from God.

If you’re a builder, a leader, or someone who’s always creating – Sabbath can feel unproductive.
In fact, it can even feel scary.

It’s hard to take your foot off the peddle when there’s always more to do, fix and improve.

But at The Risen Project, we believe it’s important to realize that rest isn’t the OPPOSITE of building, rather it’s PART of a sustainable strategy.

Take Chick-fil-A for example; a restaurant that closes every Sunday in a country of 24/7 demand. In business terms, that’s one full day of lost revenue every single week.

And yet, they’re still ranked #3 in U.S. fast-food sales.

That’s not accidental. It’s a reminder that constant output isn’t the only path to success. Sabbath is a declaration: the work matters, but it’s not the “ultimate.”

Take a moment and evaluate – when was the last time your sabbath was consistent?

In our time coaching and leading Christian leaders, we’ve seen a common pattern—people often wind up carrying burdens God never asked them to carry.

Sometimes it starts from a good place: a desire to be a faithful steward or a better leader. Other times, it comes from genuine passion—a deep care for the work and a commitment to do things with integrity.

But over time, those good intentions quietly shift. Passion turns into pressure, and responsibility turns into a heavy weight.

Good stewardship doesn’t mean saying yes to every burden. It doesn’t mean controlling every situation or carrying everyone’s emotional load.
Rather, it’s about doing as well as we can, and trusting God with the things we can’t hold together on our own.

Because truthfully, unless he’s in what we build, the things we build, will be for nothing.

Take a moment to think; what in your life or business can you release. What do you think it would feel like if you did?

04/11/2026

At The Risen Project we believe the work we’re doing to help leaders grow, build, and lead well is more than just a service. It’s a calling – a responsibility to serve the Body of Christ so it can see it grow healthy and endure for the long haul.

That’s why you’ll hear us speaking mostly to Christians. Not because our work is exclusive – truthfully we’re open to walking with anyone who wants to grow, values integrity and is serious about building something meaningful.

But we also feel deeply passionate about faith permeating every area of life, including the work we do.

For us, discipleship, leadership, and communication aren’t separate – they’re interconnected. They form the foundation of a life and calling that’s fully integrated, not divided.

So, if you’re someone who feels that pull – not just believe, but to build, lead and steward something that matters – you’re not alone.

We see you. And you’re exactly who we’re here for.

Faithfulness sounds beautiful…untill you start to feel what it costs.

It’s easy to stay committed when obedience is rewarded quickly, or when doing the right thing feels good, and people notice.

But real faithfulness shows up when the cost is high and the outcomes are unclear. When doing the right thing feels unseen…and even a little heavy.

These are the times faithfulness truly matters.

Because in this quiet, steady obedience we’re learning to trust that the things done in secret, still matter to God. And over time, that kind of faithfulness builds depth, character, and fruit that shortcuts never can.

Like Galatians 6:9 says, “Do not grow weary of doing good for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.”

So if it feels slow, if it feels costly, if it feels like no one sees…remember that God does. And that the faithfulness you’re choosing, is forming something deep within.

Don’t give up. Keep going.
