We’re partnering with The Lighthouse Project, IAR, MYCC, Islamic Center of Cary, and The FYI to bring you an important evening focused on Releasing the Shackles of Stigma: Understanding Trauma, Self-Harm & Mental Health — a safe, open space to learn, reflect, and grow together.

We’re honored to welcome Dr. Omar Shareef, MD, MBA, and Sr. Alaa Shareef, Mental Health Educators, who will guide us through understanding trauma, recognizing signs of distress, and learning how we can better support ourselves and the people we love.

This Friday we have Dr Omar Shareef joining us for the *second and third shifts* to deliver a khutbah on the topic of _mental health, trauma and self-harm_. The organization he’s part of, the Family and Youth Institute will also have a booth with more information on the topic along with other resources related to mental health. These khutbahs are part of the series of events organized by Alnoor, Islamic Association of Raleigh, The Lighthouse Project, the Muslim Youth Community Center, and the Islamic Center of Cary for _National Su***de Prevention Week_.
