Hope is meant to be contagious. Just as a child’s smile can bring joy in the middle of a difficult day, our confidence in Christ should be evident to those around us. When our hope is rooted in the Lord, it shines through our words, attitudes, and actions—even in challenging circumstances. The question is: can others see who and what you are hoping in?

Day 2 of Providence Kids Camp is in the books! 🍀 We continued our journey through Emerald Crossing and Psalm 23, learning more about our Good Shepherd through Bible lessons, worship, skits, crafts, games, and lots of laughter along the way. We are so thankful for the opportunity to help kids grow in their faith while making memories and having a blast. We can't wait to see what God has in store for Day 3!

This week’s passage: Psalm 130

Here are some discussion questions to continue your worship throughout the week:
1. When you are confronted with your sin, is your tendency to be self-reliant and try to fix it?
2. Where do you turn when you struggle?
3. Are you fighting sin in your own strength or calling out for the Lord’s mercy? What does this look like?
4. How does your view of God impact your view of sin?
5. What is the ground of your assurance and hope?
6. Why don’t you have to worry if God has forgiven all of your sin? What is it about the person and work of Christ that makes an end to all our sin?

Worship is an outward expression coming from the overflow of the heart. At Providence, our services are times of intentional celebration and remembrance of what Jesus has done for us. Through the songs we sing, we express what we believe about God and confess our need for Him. Here’s our set list for the weekend:

You've Already Won
Yet Not I But Through Christ In Me
Agnus Dei

The story of Esther points us to an even greater Deliverer. Mordecai and Esther were used by God to rescue His people from death, but their story ultimately points forward to Christ—the One who brings true and eternal deliverance. Through Jesus, forgiveness, freedom, and new life are available to all who repent and trust in Him. What a faithful and rescuing God we serve.

The gospel points us to a better King. While earthly kings rule out of pride and self-interest, Jesus humbled Himself to rescue His people—even when we had rejected Him. The cross, which looked like defeat, became the very place where sin and death were conquered. What evil meant for destruction, God used for redemption, and through Christ’s death and resurrection, we have true deliverance and victory.

This week’s passage: Esther 9:1-10:3

Here are some discussion questions to continue your worship throughout the week:
1. How do the first four verses of chapter 9 dramatically display the reversal that has occurred?
2. How did Mordecai’s ancestor Saul fail in 1 Samuel 15? In what ways does Esther 9 bring reversal and resolution to that story? What does this teach us about God’s redemptive purposes?
3. Throughout the OT, God opposes and defeats sin and all who oppose him. Now, in Christ, how do we fight against and put to death sin in our lives? What is the role of the church in walking together in holiness?
4. One thing Esther shows us is that God will punish all evil. What should be our response to the sobering reality of God’s wrath and eternal punishment coming for those who do not turn from sin and trust in Christ?
5. How do the Lord’s Day, baptism and the Lord’s Supper serve as new covenant signs of Christ’s victory? Why are these vital to regularly participate in as we live the Christian life and make our way to heaven?
6. Esther ends in hope. How is that hope finally resolved in light of the person and work of Christ? How should that shape the way we live?
