"Could it be that pastors will stay longer in their church if their local association is strong? I firmly believe that the health of a local association of churches is essential and critical to the health of pastors and their churches."

Lloyd-Jones from Acts 5 on the unchanging message of the gospel:

“Now some people are foolish enough to think that because there are changes and fashions in thinking, all ideas must change, including the Christian message. But if you start by realizing that we are concerned here, not with human thought, but with God's thought, then you see how ridiculous it is to think that the message should in any way be affected by changing fash-ions. God cannot change. God is. And God is what God always was. There is no beginning; there is no end. He is the eternal I AM. And when He speaks, His words must therefore be the eternal and unchanging truth.”

Listened to this podcast while out on a run this morning. I thought this was a helpful conversation about the important work of Church Revitalization.

This is a really big development.

DALLAS – President Donald J. Trump signed the Clergy Act into law Tuesday (Oct. 20), marking a significant development for ministers and ministry families nationwide. Been a busy few days. Thankful for the opportunity to serve our Director of Missions Fellowship and hear about the work the Lord is doing in associations up and down California. Our President of the DOM Fellowship, Victor Chayasirisobhon, is doing a great job. It was a lot of fun partnering with CSBC Disaster Relief Ministries to feed everyone breakfast Wednesday morning. Glad to be able to serve by getting one of the DR trailers back up to Fresno.

Always good seeing friends from all over California and hearing about what God is doing in their churches. Thankful for the work that many of our brothers are doing to see churches revitalized, especially in Northern California. Let’s pray for these pastors and the faithful and honorable work they are doing!

I was grateful my resolution: “On the Importance of Gospel Work in the West and Frontier States” was unanimously adopted by the messengers of the California Southern Baptist Convention. Pastor Tito did a great job reading that resolution and will do an excellent job chairing the Credentials and Resolutions Committee next year. Although our committee was interesting this year (can’t share more because “parliamentary procedures”), I am thankful for the opportunity to serve on it the last 3 years and the last 2 as the chairperson. Thank you to all those who served us this year, I’ve seen how hard the staff in Fresno has been working the past few weeks.

Let’s steward the resources God has entrusted us all with well, so that we will Reach California with the gospel!
