In Scripture, we see a haunting transformation: Lot’s wife looking back at a crumbling world and turning into a pillar of salt. She didn't just stop moving; she became "crystallized" in her longing for what she was supposed to leave behind.
When we fixate on our past, our hearts undergo a similar process. We harden into a monument of our old lives instead of walking into our future.
How We Get Stuck:
• Culture: Like Lot’s wife, we can become so attached to the "city" around us that we lose our reach for God.
• Past Sins: Guilt acts like a preservative, keeping us trapped in a version of ourselves that God has already forgiven.
• Old Hurts: When we obsess over the pain of "S***m," we crystallize in our bitterness.
From Salt Back to Life
A heart of salt is rigid, immobile, and dead. But we serve a God of resurrection! He doesn't want you to be a monument to your past; He wants you to be a movement toward His Grace.
"Remember Lot’s wife... Whoever tries to keep their life will lose it, and whoever loses their life will preserve it." — Luke 17:32-33
