Lamentations 3
Lamentations 3 starts with ugly, painful words before turning to the Lord's faithfulness and hope. Sometimes our hard thoughts and feelings need to find a voice so the comfort, truth, and faithfulness of God can come back in and remind us that He is good.

Lamentations 2
God was willing to let the temple, the priesthood, the walls, and the city go in order to bring about the redemption of His people. The point is this: God prizes people over things.

Lamentations 1
Heartbroken over Jerusalem, Jeremiah expressed his grief in a beautiful poem instead of bottling it up. We can follow his example and deal honestly with our sorrow rather than burying it.

Jeremiah 52
Jeremiah ends with King Jehoiachin released from prison and dining with the king for the rest of his life. God does punish, but He is able to be with us in the punishment and bless us through it if we turn our hearts toward Him.

Jeremiah 51
Jeremiah's prophecy against Babylon was fulfilled, and it also points to the future Babylon of Revelation, the world and its systems that God will destroy. Affluence can trap us, and we're called to go and be part of God's people.

Jeremiah 50
History bears out the prophecy that a coalition of nations would take Babylon. Babylon fell because it exalted itself in its task of bringing correction, and the New Testament calls us to bring correction humbly, knowing we can be tempted too.

Jeremiah 49
God rules over the nations, and the problems we face today may not be the ones we face tomorrow, so we need to stay current with what God is doing and saying. For the one who pleases the Lord, God is able to make even his enemies to be at peace with him.

Jeremiah 48
Moab's judgment came because of their pride and because they derided God's people. God rules over the nations, and we see the same thing play out with individuals, families, and nations today.
