The Church at Shalimar The Church at Shalimar is a Christ-centered, multi-generational, family and community-relevant ministry through worship, discipleship, and mission.

We strive to connect hearts and change lives. We're so glad you're checking out The Church at Shalimar! We are committed to growth through discipleship, worship Christian education, fellowship, and service through missions. The Church at Shalimar is beautifully blended in worship style with both traditional and contemporary worship services. Our church is on a busy corner of Eglin Parkway in the heart of the Fort Walton Beach, Shalimar, and Eglin Air Force Base communities. You are invited to try any of our worship services weekly! We offer two Traditional Style Services at 8:00 and 11:00 am in our Sanctuary, and a Modern Service at 9:30 our the Family Life Center

Two Sundays ago we encouraged our 11am service attenders to slip into our 9:30am service the following week in order to be a part of a special panel discussion that was going to take place. Then...the storm came through and we had to cancel services for that Sunday.

So we are now extending that invitation for THIS SUNDAY, October 18th. We are not asking you to skip your normal worship experience at 11am, we are simply asking you to come participate with us in the 9:30 service as well. The panel discussion portion should begin right about 10am, so slip in before then.

The panel is going to very specifically looking at the "Why" behind the concepts we have been discussing in our Next Gen sermon series. This is an important discussion for our entire church to hear and we would love for you to carve a little extra time out of your Sunday Morning in order to be with us. In fact, some of our SS Classes that typically meet during that time are going to meet early so they can slip out and come be a part of this as well. If you have questions about that, contact your SS Leader directly.

Can't wait to worship together at both 9:30 and 11am!

October is Pastor Appreciation Month!

Throughout October, we invite you to join us in showing appreciation for Pastor Alan and Pastor Chad—not only through words of encouragement, but also through intentional prayer.

Our Prayer Team has prepared a 31-Day Prayer Guide specifically for Pastor Appreciation Month, giving us a daily opportunity to lift up Pastor Alan and Pastor Chad in prayer. As we continue this special month of appreciation, here is the third week of our prayer guide!

Day 15 | October 15th:
Praise God for our pastors’ leadership and pray that they will make godly decisions. Pray that they will lead with a shepherd’s heart and always speak the truth in love.
(1 Kings 3:9; Jeremiah 3:15; Romans 12:6–8; 1 Peter 5:2)

Day 16 | October 16th:
Pray that our pastors will be courageous in the pulpit as they proclaim Christ and confident in their use of God's Word. Ask God to help them speak with insight, transparency, and humility.
(Colossians 1:28; 4:3a; Ephesians 6:19)

Day 17 | October 17th:
Pray that our pastors will be committed to the Great Commission, sharing the Gospel personally and equipping others to reach the lost. Pray that God will give them a heart for developing and strengthening a thriving missions ministry within our church.
(Matthew 28:19–20; Luke 19:10; Romans 10:15)

Day 18 | October 18th:
Pray that our pastors will be devoted to prayer and worship, leading by example and teaching our congregation how to walk in a close, personal relationship with our Heavenly Father.
(Matthew 4:10; Mark 1:35; Luke 22:36; Acts 1:14a; 1 Thessalonians 5:17)

Day 19 | October 19th:
Pray that our pastors will manage their time wisely, seeking God's guidance in their daily schedules and protecting their time from unnecessary distractions and interruptions.
(Psalm 90:12; John 9:4; Ephesians 5:15–16; Colossians 4:5)

Day 20 | October 20th:
Pray for a fresh anointing upon our pastors and their ministries. Ask God to work powerfully in their personal lives and throughout the spiritual life of our congregation, allowing His presence and power to be evident in all they do.
(Romans 15:18–19a; 1 Corinthians 9:27; 2 Timothy 1:7)

Day 21 | October 21st:
Pray that our pastors will remain encouraged and steadfast in their calling, even when facing criticism, conflict, or discouragement. Ask God to strengthen their hearts and help them entrust every challenge to Him, knowing that He judges righteously.
(1 Peter 2:23)

Dear Church Family,

As Hurricane Isaias approaches the Gulf Coast, the safety of our church family remains our top priority. All Sunday worship services and church activities have been canceled.

We anticipate reopening our church offices on Monday, provided weather conditions have improved and our campus is safe and accessible.

October is Pastor Appreciation Month! This month, we invite you to join us in showing appreciation for Pastor Alan and Pastor Chad—not only through words of encouragement, but through intentional prayer.

Our Prayer Team has prepared a 31-Day Prayer Guide specifically for Pastor Appreciation Month, giving us a daily opportunity to lift up Pastor Alan and Pastor Chad in prayer. Here is the second week of the guide!

Day 8 | October 8th: Ask God to protect your pastors from evil plots of Satan. Pray they will not be corrupted as they rub shoulders with the world in the course of their ministry. ( John 17:15; Isa. 54:17; 2 Cor. 2:11; 1 Pet. 3:12; Ps. 9:9, 10, 91:9,10)

Day 9 | October 9th: Pray God will build a hedge of protection around your pastor’s family. Pray your pastors will guard from any improper relationships and their family time will be protected. (Ezek. 22:30a; 2 Cor. 10:4, 5; Matt. 19:6)

Day 10 | October 10th: Pray your pastors will use discernment in use of emails, internet, texting, and other media sources. Ask God to protect their heart concerning the use of their free time. Pray they will be morally pure and they will wear the armor of God so they will not fall to sexual temptation. (Rom. 13:14; 1 Pet. 1:16; Eph. 6:10-18; 2 Cor. 10:4)

Day 11 | October 11th: Pray God will bring godly friends and encouragers to your pastors and their family, to strengthen them for the ministry and provide meaningful fellowship with times of rest. (Phil. 2:19-25)

Day 12 | October 12th: Pray your pastors will be humble and authentic in their faith, not given to pride or hypocrisy. Pray they will have pure motives and give God the glory for every gain and victory. (Micah 6:8; Gal. 6:14; John 7:17, 18; 1 Cor. 10-13)

Day 13 | October 13th: Pray your pastors will make wise lifestyle choices in order to protect their health, especially in the areas of exercise, eating moderately, and getting sufficient rest. Pray for times of relaxation and renewal to balance the stress of ministry. (Rom. 12:1, 2; 1Cor. 6:19, 20; 9:27, 10:13; James 3:1, 2)

Day 14 | October 14th: Pray your pastors will focus on the Word of God and walk in the fear of the Lord, instead of the fear of man, as they prepare their message. Pray they will seek to please God rather than men and pursue holiness rather than the praise of men. (Prov. 19:23; Acts 6:4; 2 Tim. 2:15; 2 Tim. 4:1, 2; Heb. 11:6)

And this is just the beginning! You can participate in several other ways throughout the month and let our pastors know how much their leadership, service, and dedication mean to you and your family.

Let’s make October a month of prayer, encouragement, and gratitude as we celebrate Pastor Alan and Pastor Chad and the ways God is working through their ministry.

October is here, and with it comes a special opportunity to celebrate, encourage, and pray for those who faithfully serve our church family.

October is Pastor Appreciation Month! This month, we invite you to join us in showing appreciation for Pastor Alan and Pastor Chad—not only through words of encouragement, but through intentional prayer.

Our Prayer Team has prepared a 31-Day Prayer Guide specifically for Pastor Appreciation Month, giving us a daily opportunity to lift up Pastor Alan and Pastor Chad in prayer. Here is the first week of the guide!

Day 1 | October 1
Pray your pastors will love God with all their heart, soul, mind, and strength. Pray that God’s Spirit will work in their hearts in power and that they will value and follow biblical priorities.
(Deut. 6:5; Matt. 6:33)

Day 2 | October 2
Pray your pastors will cultivate strong character and uncompromising integrity. Pray that their testimony will be genuine and that they will never do anything they would
need to hide from others.
(1 Tim. 1:5, 3:7; Eph. 6:10-12)

Day 3 | October 3
Pray for their personal walk with God—that their souls and spirits will be nourished and strengthened in their quiet time with God, beyond sermon preparation. Pray they will spend more time in the Word of God.
(Mark 1:35; 2 Tim. 2:15-16)

Day 4 | October 4
Pray your pastors will counsel and teach with discernment through the wise use of Scripture and faith in God’s power to work. Pray they will be protected from the effects of sinful or negative attitudes they encounter as they counsel.
(Mal. 2:7; James 1:5-6; John 17:15)

Day 5 | October 5
Ask God to protect your pastors’ marriages and keep them strong as a model of Christ’s relationship with the Church. Pray your pastors will tenderly cherish and lead their spouses, and that they will respect and encourage one another.
(Eph. 5:23-33)

Day 6 | October 6
Pray God will protect your pastors’ spouses from bitterness when their spouse is criticized. Pray that their prayer and devotional lives will be consistent and that they will guard their minds and hearts. (Heb. 12:15; Prov. 4:23)

Day 7 | October 7
Pray for your pastors’ children, especially that the pressures of ministry will not discourage or embitter them. Pray your pastors will provide godly leadership in the home, not based on fear of what others will think, but according to scriptural truth.
(Eph. 6:4; Col. 3:20-21)

And this is just the beginning! There are several other ways you can participate throughout the month and let our pastors know how much their leadership, service, and dedication mean to you and your family.

THE GOD WHO STEPPED INTO YOUR LIMITS

It's easy to see God as a foreign entity with whom we cannot relate. He has no limits. We live inside ours every single day.

To close that distance, God placed Himself in flesh. He came as Jesus, born of Mary, living a human life with a body and a beginning, just like ours.

In Jesus, God made Himself small enough to reach. He consciously limited Himself for the sake of coming among us, so that real relationship with Him could finally happen.

Then Jesus went to a cross. He shed His blood for our sin so that nothing would stand in the way of a relationship we could have with Almighty God.

The God who seems so far off is a God of love, and He has done everything possible through Jesus and by His Holy Spirit to bring us close.

There is nothing preventing you and me from being in relationship with Jesus Christ. Which of your limits did you think He couldn't step into?
