Proof is not the problem. The heart that loves sin will find a reason to reject every answer.

In Matthew 16, the Pharisees and Sadducees come to Jesus demanding a sign. He had already fed thousands, walked on water, and healed without number. But they were not there to be convinced. They were there to protect something.

Pastor Russell walks through what resolved doubt really is, and why the grace of God that brought you through the door today may not keep pressing forever.

Doubt is not an intellectual problem. It's a heart problem.

The Pharisees had watched Jesus feed 9,000 people from almost nothing, walk on water, and heal every kind of sickness. When they showed up demanding another sign, they weren't skeptics. They were people who had already decided, and no amount of evidence was going to change that.

Pastor Russell Howard walked us through Matthew 16 Sunday and pressed on something most of us don't want to sit with: the question of Jesus isn't mostly about what we know. It's about what we'd have to give up to say yes.

His grace is still pressing on your heart. Don't waste another day on the wrong side of that invitation.

To our believing and unbelieving friends... the sin we hold onto is not neutral. It leads us to bad places in this life and worse places in eternity. Saying that out loud is not harshness. It is a church family wanting the best for you.

The good news underneath the warning is grace. Because of Jesus, we can stop defending what is hurting us and others, and start letting it go.

This Father's Day, we gathered around one of the most honest passages in the Gospels.

This morning, we dove into Matthew 16:1-12, where Pastor Russell showed us what separates a heart that questions from a heart that has already refused. The Pharisees weren't short on evidence. They were short on honesty. The disciples kept crossing the sea with Jesus anyway, making mistakes, asking questions, and slowly growing.

Growing as a believer is neither automatic nor passive. We closed by singing it and meaning it: "Center my life on Your name." Making Much about Jesus together.

You think a church is a building.

It is not. A church was never the walls. It is people Jesus rescued, gathered around the same Bible, singing to the same Lord, week after week. Paul called us the body of Christ (1 Corinthians 12:27).

That is our church. And there is room in it for you.

Some prayers you have prayed so long you can recite them. A child who walked away. A grandchild who stopped coming. You keep bringing the same name to God, and you are tired.

Jesus told of a widow who kept going to a judge who did not care, asking again and again until he finally gave her justice. The point, He said, was simple: we should always pray and not lose heart (Luke 18:1).

Then He made the comparison that changes everything. If even an unjust judge answered a persistent widow, how much more will a good and loving God answer the people who cry out to Him day and night? He is not ignoring you. He hears every prayer you have prayed.

So pray again today. Do not lose heart.

Save this for the next morning you pray for someone you love and feel like giving up.
