Scripture: Exodus 12:1-14
The lectionary scripture this week draws our attention to the Exodus story which reminds how whenever God acts, the people of God are instructed to pause in order to see how God is moving. To-Do Lists! and Algorithms! and Information overload! and Schedules! and Deadlines! Who has time to pause? This week we celebrate worship as a way of pausing and embracing slowness.

🌾volunteer opportunity
the great grains festival! 🌾
the blessing box will be serving soup at the great grains festival on saturday, sept 26 at spiesschaert farms, and we’re looking for volunteers to help make the day a success.

this community event is a wonderful chance to share our mission with more neighbors while raising support for blessing box programs.

volunteer shifts:
• setup team — 2 volunteers, 8:30am until ready
• soup servers — 2 volunteers, 10am–12pm
• soup servers — 2 volunteers, 12pm–2pm
• cleanup helper — at least 1 volunteer back at the church during the event

whether you can serve guests for a couple of hours or lend a hand with cleanup, your time truly strengthens our community and helps us continue providing meals and support to families in need.

🎶 our music ministry is gearing up for fall! 🎶
music is such a vital part of our worship life, and we’d love for you to consider how you might be part of it this year.

our sanctuary choir begins rehearsals on thursday, sept 3.
strong wings band is preparing to play for worship on oct 4.
our handbell ensemble will be resuming soon.

plus, we’re expanding opportunities for soloists, instrumentalists, small ensembles, and anyone who feels called to share their musical gifts with the congregation.
