Sermon Title: Your Obedience Is Bigger Than You
Scripture: Luke 5:6-10

What happens when God asks you to do something that doesn’t make sense?

In Luke 5, Simon Peter had fished all night and caught nothing. He was tired, frustrated, and ready to move on. Yet at the word of Jesus, he launched out into the deep and let down his nets one more time. What followed was a miracle that changed not only his circumstances, but the course of his life.

In this message, “Your Obedience Is Bigger Than You,” we discover that our obedience to God often reaches far beyond our own blessing. God uses our willingness to trust Him to impact families, communities, ministries, and future generations. What may seem like a simple act of obedience today can become the doorway to God’s greater purpose tomorrow.

In This Message:

* Trusting God when the results aren’t visible
* Obeying God beyond your own understanding
* How obedience creates opportunities for others
* Why God’s purpose is often larger than our personal plans
* Moving from blessing to calling

No matter where you are in your journey, this message will encourage you to trust God’s voice, follow His direction, and believe that your obedience is connected to something far greater than yourself.

“And when they had this done, they inclosed a great multitude of fishes: and their net brake.” — Luke 5:6

🎙️ BEEN THINKING PODCAST | SERIES FINALE

Be Who God Called You to Be

As we conclude our Called to Be Different series, we’re asking a question that every person must eventually answer:

When your life is over… who will you have become?

Not what you owned.
Not what position you held.
Not how much money you made.
Not how many people knew your name.

But who did you become?

In this powerful series finale, Dr. Charles Brown reflects on purpose, calling, identity, legacy, and the danger of spending your life becoming what everyone else expected instead of becoming who God created you to be.

Through Scripture, personal testimony, and life reflections, this episode challenges us to stop living for approval and start living with purpose.

💡 Don’t allow somebody else’s inability to see your calling to cause you to abandon it.

📖 Featured Scriptures:
• Jeremiah 1:5
• John 15:16
• Galatians 1:10
• 2 Corinthians 5:17

Join us for this meaningful conclusion to the Called to Be Different series and prepare for our next journey through the Gospel of Luke.

The Promise of the Father, reminds us that Pentecost was never just about an emotional moment—it was about the fulfillment of God’s promise through the power of the Holy Spirit.

In Acts 1:3–5, Jesus instructed His followers to wait for the Promise of the Father. And in Acts 2, while they were together, waiting in obedience and unity, the Holy Spirit filled the room and transformed ordinary people into empowered witnesses for Christ.

This message speaks to:
• the believer waiting on God
• the person longing for spiritual renewal
• the church that needs Holy Ghost power again
• and anyone who needs to be reminded that God still pours out His Spirit on all flesh.

The Promise of the Father was never about division… but unity.

Not exclusion… but inclusion.

Not dead religion… but living, breathing Holy Ghost power.

The enemy comes to steal, kill, and destroy…but Jesus came to give life more abundantly.📖 John 10:10

In this powerful episode of The Brown & White Podcast, Dr. Charles Brown and Dr. Rickey White discuss the battle over spiritual direction, the strategy of the enemy, and the pathway God has prepared for our lives.

So many people today are spiritually exhausted. Some are smiling publicly while suffering privately.Others are trying to remain faithful while carrying frustration, confusion, pressure, and discouragement.

This conversation reminds us that:• God still speaks• God still guides• God still restores• God still gives direction

We discuss:▪️ The enemy’s strategy of distraction before destruction▪️ How spiritual exhaustion slowly affects people▪️ What abundant life truly means▪️ Why prayer is essential during difficult seasons▪️ The importance of following God’s voice over fear and confusion▪️ The assurance that God already knows the pathway ahead

Children are often overlooked because of their age… but what if God is speaking through them?

In this powerful and heartfelt message, Kendrall Johnson shares how God used the story of young Samuel in 1 Samuel 3:4–10 to remind us that children can discern spiritually, recognize danger, and hear from God in ways adults sometimes ignore.

Through personal testimony, biblical truth, and a message of encouragement for both parents and young people, this sermon challenges the church to stop silencing children and start guiding them spiritually.

This message reminds us:
• God speaks to children too
• Discernment is not limited by age
• Young people need spiritual guidance, not distance
• The church must listen to and invest in the next generation

📖 Scripture: 1 Samuel 3:4–10 (NIV)

So may we all learn to not only say:
“Speak, LORD, for your servant is listening.”

But also:
“Speak, LORD, for Your children are listening.”

Today at Mt. Marine Baptist Church, God met us in a powerful way through the message: “In Due Time” from 1 Samuel 1:17–20.

Hannah’s story reminded us that waiting seasons can feel painful, lonely, and misunderstood… but God has not forgotten His people.

Some of the strongest people are those who kept showing up while silently carrying burdens nobody else could see.

Today’s word encouraged:
• the weary
• praying mothers
• women carrying emotional weight
• those struggling with “not yet” seasons
• and anyone trusting God while waiting for breakthrough.

Hannah teaches us that pain can push us toward prayer, and that God’s delays are never His denials.

Your “not yet” is not your “never.”

And in due time… God will do exactly what He promised.

Thank you to everyone who worshipped with us today. We pray this message continues to strengthen your faith throughout the week.

Been Thinking Podcast | Stewarding the New Series

Episode 6: Stewardship Reveals What You Value

Your habits preach louder than your words.

We often pray for “much.”
More influence.
Greater opportunity.
Expansion.

But Luke 16:10 reminds us that faithfulness with little determines trust with much.

What if the “little” isn’t money?

What if it’s:
• The people already in your life
• The responsibility attached to your role
• Your family and household
• Your health
• The unseen work no one applauds

And what if how you treat people is the clearest evidence of what you value?

In this episode of the Been Thinking Podcast, I connect Luke 16 with 1 Corinthians 13 and explore how love and faithfulness form the foundation of true stewardship.

Because stewardship is not about size.
It’s about seriousness.

Before asking God for more, take a look at what’s already in your hands.

Listen in and reflect.

What are your habits preaching?
