Sunday Recap☀️

God Answers Prayers🙌

Mathew 11:28 “Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest.”

Our prayers are always heard, no matter the time or the place God is listening! So never have doubt in the Lord, for every prayer you pray is heard by Him.

Think back on prayers that maybe you stopped praying, and bring them back to God. Just because the answer was not given in the time you wanted does not mean God did not hear you ask.

As Jonah was in the whale he cried out to God, in a time of what felt scary and hopeless and God was there. God commanded the whale to let Jonah out on dry land, and so the whale did. That’s how serious our prayers are, if we ask Gods will may be done!

In times of fear and distress, do you turn to God? When you pray do you truly believe our Father is listening and answering?

We need to always go straight to Jesus, in praise and in prayer. The good times and the hard times turn to God!🙌

“You have not because you ask not.” James 4:2

No matter what changes in our circumstances the vow must still be paid!
If we make a vow to God we are held to forever keep that vow, it’s better to never make a vow rather than make one and not keep it.

On this Memorial day, we pray for those who have courageously laid down their lives for the cause of freedom. May the examples of their sacrifice inspire in us the selfless love of Your Son, our Lord Jesus Christ. Bless the families of our fallen troops, and fill their homes and their lives with Your strength and peace.

Sunday recap💛

Consider Your Vows Carefully.

We opened our bibles to Judges 11: 29-40 for the reading and preaching of Gods word today. We learn about the importance of the vows we make, and how much each promise means.

Never does God ask us to promise him anything, but if we do we much forever keep our promises to Him. When we make a vow to God to do something in return for an answered prayer we must follow through with that vow. Our God does not answer our prayers for something in return, he answers them because He loves us!

In the passage today we read about Jephthah making a vow to God. Jephthah promises God if He gives him victory over the Ammonites, he would give God the first thing to come out of his house as a burnt offering. God did as Jephthah asked and once Jephthah returned home the first thing to walk out of his house was his daughter…

Just as Jephthah followed through with the vow he made to God, we are called to as well.

Why do we make vows to God? Why would we make a vow if God does not ask us to do so, for he would answer our prayers without something from us in return.

Once we make a vow to God we are expected to honor it. Our Lord is not impressed by emotional promises, he is impressed by honored vows!

Just as we should always honor our vows to God we must also honor every promise we make to our brother and sisters. If we want to represent Christ, then we must do as He does.
