This is our very own Sister Michelle. She always tells her DACA clients that she is a tech geek because she loves helping them do their applications online. Well, here is the proof! She is not only a geek for her clients, she is also for religious community’s throughout the United States.

Four Benedictine sisters travel the country to run the technology for congregational gatherings, saving fellow sisters from technological headaches.

Se celebrará un Rosario Laudato Si' al aire libre, en la Gruta de Lourdes del Monasterio de la Inmaculada Concepción. La participación es gratuita y, al finalizar, se ofrecerán refrigerios.

If you are a DACA holder or know someone who is, PLEASE pay attention! USCIS is very slow with approving and people are loosing their jobs because they renew too late. Check your expiration date and renew at least 6 months before it expires. If you are a DACA client of Sister Michelle, contact her immediately if yours expires closer than 6 months from now.

You must be a licensed lawyer OR a representative Accredited with the Department of Justice to charge people to help them with their immigration cases. I affirm this wholeheartedly! My DACA clients, please reach out to me if your DACA expires within the next 5-6 months. If it is less than 5 months, do so immediately. USCIS is being VERY slow in adjudicating applications, even when done online.

SHARE to spread the word to DACA recipients! 📣 Wondering when to renew your DACA and what else you should consider when renewing? 👇

🗓️ DACA recipients should file a renewal at least **5 months** before their current DACA status expires. This should give USCIS enough time to process your request before your current DACA expires. Processing times for DACA renewals can change and it is important to stay connected with a qualified legal services provider to get informed on how long DACA renewals are taking and some renewals might take longer.

🚩 This could be the case where 1) there have been changes in the case, like a new arrest or conviction; 2) you are getting fee support from a legal service agency and they might need more time to process the payment; or 3) a recipient might be from a country that was listed as part of the travel ban countries, since there might be more scrutiny for these cases. A legal services provider can also help you assess any risks in your case given the rapid immigration policy changes.

📑🔍 If you have not spoken to a legal services provider in the last year, it is recommended that you get screened for other forms of relief while you renew your DACA. It is crucial to understand what other legal options you might have.

Estoy muy emocionada de comenzar este camino con ustedes y de enseñar clases de inglés para adultos, porque creo profundamente que el idioma es un puente poderoso hacia nuevas oportunidades, mayor confianza y un sentido de comunidad. Sé que aprender un nuevo idioma mientras se trabaja, se cuida de la familia y se enfrenta la vida diaria no siempre es fácil, y por eso admiro mucho el esfuerzo que hacen.

Cuento con un Doctorado en Educación en Liderazgo y Pedagogía Educativa, una Maestría en Enseñanza del Inglés como Segundo Idioma, y más de diez años de experiencia enseñando y apoyando a estudiantes de inglés dentro de programas de inmersión en dos idiomas.

Como educadora de primaria, he trabajado muy de cerca con familias multilingües, lo que me ha permitido comprender mejor los retos que enfrentan los estudiantes adultos y las estrategias que realmente ayudan a aprender un idioma de manera significativa y práctica.

Todo este recorrido me ha preparado para acompañarlos y apoyarlos en el desarrollo de habilidades en inglés que tendrán un impacto real en su vida personal, profesional y en su participación en la comunidad. Estoy muy agradecida de poder aprender junto a ustedes y de ser parte de este importante paso en su camino.
