Our mission - minded sew-ers were at it again last week - making puppets for children here in Farmville, lap blankets for our homebound, and many more items, made with love.

They also craft cloth diapers for our friends in Honduras, and they make beautiful crafts to be sold at our annual Christmas Market, the first weekend in November.

YOU are welcome to join them! Look for dates and times in your Sunday bulletin. Sewing skills are welcome but not necessary!

Our deepest sympathies are extended to Don Blessing in the death of his father, Carl Blessing. Carl died on June 3 at 99 years old. Carl was a faithful member of Farmville UMC for many years.

Visitation will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, June 6, 2026, followed by the funeral service at 2:00 pm, at Puckett Funeral Home in Farmville, Virginia, concluding at Westview Cemetery in Farmville. The Rev. Sylvia Meadows will officiate.

In honor of Carl’s life, memorial contributions may go to Prince Edward County Rescue Squad.

Attention, VBS Volunteers!

Please plan to attend a meeting after worship this Sunday, May 31, in the Fellowship Room - a pizza lunch, and then news about our program, Rainforest Falls. Training on our child protection policy will follow. Our meeting should last about an hour.

Child protection training is mandatory for ALL who want to serve this summer - please plan on attending. See you there!

DO YOU WANT TO VOLUNTEER to help with Vacation Bible School? Our program this summer is Rainforest Falls: Exploring the Nature of God, and it will happen July 20-24, from 9 AM yo noon.

We need YOU to help give our little explorers a great experience of God's great love. It's all hands on deck!

We scheduled two meetings - you need only choose the one that fits best with your schedule. The first organizational meeting is THIS SUNDAY! Lunch will be provided. Meetings will last about and hour to an hour and a half.

Grief Support Group Reminder

The FUMC grief support group will meet on
May 20 for our regular meeting at 2 PM. Pastor Susie Thomas will be facilitating the group.

Our meeting will be in the youth room. If you need directions to access the church/room please text or call Rebecca M. at (434) 414-4562.

There will be a sign on the Randolph Street side door closest the parking lot indicating where you are to enter.
