St. Michael Church Holiday Mass Schedule

For those of you who like to plan ahead, St. Michael Church has set its calendar for the holiday season!

Here is the holiday Mass schedule, covering the season from Thanksgiving through the Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary and January 1.

Please note that this schedule does not include the regular Sunday Masses during Advent. It lists only the special holiday Masses that do not fall on the weekend.

Our Advent Reconciliation Service has not yet been scheduled. As soon as the date and time are confirmed, we will share an update.

Everyone is welcome to join us as we celebrate this special and blessed time of year. May God bless you and your families throughout the holiday season!

2026 St. Michael KY Holy Land Pilgrimage ✨

On Thursday, October 15th, 14 pilgrims from St. Michael embarked on a wonderful journey through the Kentucky Holy Land to learn more about our rich Catholic heritage and the history of our faith right here in Kentucky.

Our very own Gilly Simpson, a local Catholic historian in his own right, served as our guide throughout much of this memorable pilgrimage, sharing fascinating stories, historical facts, and the faith-filled legacy of those who came before us.

Our journey began at our home, St. Michael, where we reflected on our own parish history and were introduced to many of the names and stories we would encounter along the way.

Our next stop was St. Rose in Springfield, where Rev. Pier Giorgio Dengler, Pastor, graciously guided us and shared his knowledge of this historic parish.

From there, we visited the Motherhouse at Loretto, followed by Holy Cross, home of the first Catholic church in Kentucky. We then traveled to Gethsemani, where we learned about the quiet, prayerful life of the Trappist community.

Returning to Nelson County, we stopped at St. Thomas, a place of many historic firsts in the Diocese of Bardstown, which later became the Archdiocese of Louisville.

After a relaxing lunch, we continued to the Basilica of St. Joseph Proto-Cathedral, where we were welcomed by Steven Adams, Director of Music and Worship, who helped guide our tour and share the history of this beautiful and significant church.

Our final stop was Nazareth, where we learned more about the Sisters of Charity and their first Mother Superior, Catherine Spalding, whose life and legacy helped shape Catholic education and ministry in Kentucky.

What a beautiful day filled with faith, fellowship, history, and a deeper appreciation for the Catholic roots that run so deeply through our beloved Kentucky Holy Land!

A heartfelt THANK YOU to Gilly Simpson for an outstanding, fact-filled, and truly beautiful day! We are grateful for the opportunity to walk in the footsteps of those who helped build our Catholic heritage and to share this experience with fellow pilgrims.

May we continue to cherish, preserve, and pass on the rich history of our Catholic faith for generations to come!

St. Michael Religious Ed Trunk or Treat & Haunted House!

Mark your calendars! Our annual St. Michael Religious Ed Trunk or Treat & Haunted House will be held Friday evening, October 30th, beginning at 6:00 PM!

Trunk or Treat * Haunted House * Food & Refreshments * Fun and excitement for all ages

This event is open to the entire community, and we’d love for everyone to come out and enjoy a fun-filled evening!

We need your help to make it a success!

We need cars to participate in the Trunk or Treat!
We need candy donations!
And most of all, we need lots of children to come out and enjoy the evening!

The 2026 Feast of St. Michael celebration was a wonderful time for everyone!

Mass was held at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, followed immediately by the Pig Roast & Potluck. The men started cooking the pig late Friday evening, and it slow-cooked throughout the night. Jude and Tim stayed up all night around the fire pit tending the roast!

The weather was fantastic, and the kids enjoyed the bounce house while many of us took advantage of the fire pit in the Walnut Grove. We had a smorgasbord of country sides to go along with the pulled pork, chicken, and beef BBQ—and the homemade desserts were absolutely out of this world!

Thank you to everyone who helped make the celebration such a wonderful success. We’re already looking forward to next year.

Join us tonight as we honor our patron saint with a Holy Mass beginning at 5:00 PM. Confessions will be heard starting at 4:15 PM.

After Mass, everyone is invited to Gardiner Hall and the Walnut Grove for a festive Pig Roast potluck. The men started slow-cooking the hog late last night, so expect delicious, tender pork. We will also have pork butt prepared by Rob, along with hotdogs for the kids.

Enjoy the bounce house and cozy up by the fire pit as we celebrate together in community and faith. Everyone is welcome!

THANK YOU FOR THE PRAYERS- GUS HAS BEEN FOUND! !

Prayers for a safe return home for Gus, and prayers for strength, comfort, and peace for the O’Daniel family as they go through this horrible and heartbreaking event.

Gus is the grandson of Ann Rosalie and Bobby Ballard, and he is also related to the Long family and Darrell.

Please keep Gus and the entire family in your thoughts and prayers.

This Sunday is Priesthood Sunday, and we at St. Michael want to show our love and appreciation for our pastor, Fr. Quan Nguyen, for his devotion, selfless service, and countless hours of love and care that he gives to our parish family. We are truly grateful for all that he does for us!

We would also like to express our heartfelt appreciation for our former pastors, Fr. Kirby Rust, Fr. Brandon DeToma, and Fr. Hillary Chumo. We thank them for their years of service, dedication, and the many ways they have touched our parish community.

Finally, please join us in praying for our recent seminarians who are now discerning the call to the priesthood: Ryan Rasmussen, Samuel Mattingly, and Matthew Flaherty. May the Lord guide and strengthen them as they continue their journey toward priesthood.

Please keep all of our priests and seminarians in your prayers.
