What a wonderful Sunday at Bardstown Church of God!

We’re thankful for everyone who joined us for worship, the Word, and another great day together in God’s presence.

There’s nothing like gathering with the church family, lifting up the name of Jesus, and being encouraged for the week ahead.

Thank you for spending your Sunday with us. We’re grateful for what God is doing at BCOG and excited for all that’s ahead!

In Loving Memory of Raymond “Scott” Raymer

Raymond “Scott” Raymer, 56, went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on September 3, 2026.

Scott was a man who could light up a room. Funny, charismatic, and full of personality, he had a gift for making people laugh and making those around him feel welcome. Beneath his humor and larger-than-life personality was a truly godly man whose faith in Jesus was at the heart of who he was.

Scott was a regular attendee of Bardstown Church of God, where he loved worshiping the Lord alongside his church family. His faith brought him joy, strength, and fellowship, and those who knew him will remember not only his laughter, but also his love for the Lord.

Scott was preceded in death by his parents, Richard Raymer Sr. and Lois Raymer; his fiancée, Terry Woo; and his son-in-law, Kenneth Brown.

He leaves behind a family who loved him dearly and will forever cherish his memory, including his daughters, Chelsea Raymer and Shelby Raymer; his stepchildren, Nichol Swanson, Annie Sims, and Sherman Woo; his grandchildren, Kai Arrington and Kynnedi Arrington; and his siblings, Richard (Lynn) Raymer, Kimberly Jarboe, MeLinda (Gerald) Wilson, and LeDonna (Cory) McBride.

Scott also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members, friends, and his beloved church family, all of whom will carry their own special memories of him.

A Celebration of Life honoring Scott will be held on Tuesday, September 8, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. at Bardstown Church of God, 3903 Louisville Road, Bardstown, Kentucky 40004. Family and friends are invited to visitation from 3:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. Pastor Anthony Castle will officiate the service.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that donations be made to the GoFundMe established to help Scott’s children with expenses during this unexpected and difficult time.

Scott’s earthly presence will be deeply missed, but his family finds comfort in knowing that he has gone home to be with the Lord. The laughter he shared, the love he gave, the lives he touched, and the faith he carried will not be forgotten.

Until we meet again, Scott—rest in the presence of the Lord you loved.

Our vision at Bardstown Church of God is more than a statement — it’s the direction we want everything we do to move.

We want to lead people upward in worship — helping people encounter God, honor Him, and grow in their relationship with Him.

We want to lead people inward in discipleship — building strong believers who are grounded in the Word, growing in faith, and becoming more like Christ.

We want to lead people outward in evangelism — reaching beyond the walls of the church, sharing the Gospel, and showing the love of Jesus to our community.

And we want to lead people forward in missions — carrying the message of Christ beyond ourselves and supporting the work of the Gospel wherever God opens the door.

Upward. Inward. Outward. Forward.

That’s our vision, and we’re excited about where God is leading BCOG.
