Often the road to spiritual maturity requires pushing the boundaries of our faith; which more often than not really means pushing the boundaries of our comfort zones.

So push!

What's on the other side of that comfort zone is greater intimacy with God, greater knowledge of His work, greater experience of His power; greater trust and so greater peace; and possibly, a greater eternity for someone else.

So push. God is not calling you to do harder things for Him, but miracle things *with* Him; and that, is the very life you were made for.

A side quest is a secondary, optional mission or activity that does not advance the primary objective.

To observe many Christians you would think the primary objective of Christianity is to win arguments, further personal politics, or advance our morality.

While these may have their time, place, and necessity, they are “side quests” we sometimes confuse for the mission.

But MISSION is the mission.

The last thing Jesus tells His disciples, those who have learned their way of life from Him, before He ascends into heaven, is to “Go! And make disciples.” He calls us witnesses, messengers, delegates, ambassadors; even the light of the world.

If you’ve given your life to Christ, take up His; and now that you have learned from Him, “Go,” and make mission your mission.

The season of Lent is upon is.

It asks us to reflect on our mortality, the cost of sin, and the depth of God’s love for us.

Its fervent hope is the production of repentance, a greater appreciation of Christ's sacrifice, and a more intimate connection with God; resulting in life change.

Many will "afflict their souls" in an expression of worship we call "fasting" in an effort to symbolize their sorrow, an understanding of their own sin and its cost, and to symbolically join Christ in His sufferings to resist and pay for sin.

It is a season meant to give weight to our celebration of Easter, and ground us in its reason.
