We are baptizing some folks this Sunday!

Water Baptism is a significant moment for a follower Jesus. It’s a demonstration of the work that God has done in someone’s heart. The Holy Spirit has transformed a person internally, and baptism paints a beautiful picture of that reality externally.

In the waters of baptism, a person declares, “I confess faith in Christ; Jesus has delivered my soul from sin, cleansed me and made new, and I belong to Him.”

Visit brightcitynw.com/baptism to let us know you’re ready to take this significant step.

Today is Pentecost Sunday — the day the Church marks the coming of the Holy Spirit and the beginning of something that has shaped the world for two thousand years. Happy birthday to the body of Christ! May we be filled and empowered by the Holy Spirit daily as we embody Kingdom realities, wherever God leads us.

New sermon series kicks-off this weekend!

When someone says “I am…”, they’re revealing something important about their identity. When you say, “I am a Christian,” you’re declaring who you are and what matters most to you.

So when Jesus says “I AM,” we should lean in closely. In these statements, He’s pulling back the curtain on who He really is, revealing His identity, and speaking words that are sure to give us hope.

JESUS IN FIRST PERSON
Seven “I AM” Statements

See you Sunday!

Christians are called to love their neighbors and even their enemies…but Paul puts a special emphasis in Galatians 6 on loving those in the “household of faith.”

Why? Because it would be a terrible bait-and-switch to love people so well that they come to Jesus and join the church, only to then be treated poorly once they’re inside.

This happens far too often with people who come to Christ from intense or unconventional backgrounds: celebrities, former occult practitioners, gang members, or anyone who doesn’t fit the “squeaky-clean” mold. Their past or their aesthetic makes some uncomfortable, and they can end up feeling rejected by the very family they just joined.

It shouldn't be this way.

Following Jesus is a lifelong journey. Let’s commit to loving one another every step of the way and being patient with those who are in process, just as Jesus has been with each of us.

“No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

This month, we are supporting Cascade Women's Health by filling baby bottles with MONEY! It's super simple: Pick up a baby bottle on Sunday, fill it with cash, pocket change, or checks, and bring it back on Sunday, May 24th. We're eager to support this incredible ministry as they care for women, babies, and families in our community in a variety of meaningful ways.

Brunch, bookmark crafting, meaningful conversation, and an encouraging testimony - our Spring Ladies’ Connect was a blast! We had the honor of hearing from Bright City Shepherd On Call and author of “The Queen’s Priest,” Theresa Haynes as she shared the story of her life, of seasons, of how God met her.

Ladies - if you’re in the midst of an identity crisis, if you’re struggling with fear, if you’re not sure where you’re going and what’s next - God sees you today. He is with you in this season.
