Psalm 18:1-8, 10a, 17-20
1 I will love you, O Lᴏʀᴅ my strength;
the Lᴏʀᴅ is my rock, my stronghold, and my deliverer,
2 My Savior, my God, and my might in whom I will trust,
my buckler, the horn of my salvation, and my refuge.
3 I will call upon the Lᴏʀᴅ, who is worthy to be praised;
so shall I be safe from my enemies.
4 The waves of death encompassed me;
the floods that would swallow me up made me afraid.
5 The cords of the grave surrounded me;
the snares of death overtook me.
6 In my trouble I called upon the Lᴏʀᴅ
and cried unto my God for help.
7 From his holy temple he heard my voice.
My complaint came before him; it entered into his ears.
8 The earth trembled and quaked;
the very foundations of the hills shook and were removed, because he was angry. [ on our behalf! ]
10 He parted the heavens also and came down,
17 He reached down from on high to grasp me,
and he took me out of many waters.
18 He delivered me from my strongest enemy, and from those who hated me, for they were too mighty for me.
19 They confronted me in the day of my trouble,
but the Lᴏʀᴅ upheld me.
20 He brought me forth into a place of liberty;
he delivered me, because I had found favor in his eyes.

Faithful God, you hear our every prayer. We ask for your mercies upon our nation & upon our communities, that your Spirit would be poured out upon the people bringing us to repentance & surrender to your everlasting love. Empower us, your Church, to walk in sync with You and be agents of hope & light. That Your greatness would be seen & experienced to the glory of your holy name. Amen. 🙏

Today we remember and give thanks for the blessing of the Cross.

"Almighty God, whose Son our Savior Jesus Christ was lifted high upon the Cross that He might draw the whole world to Himself: Mercifully grant that we, who glory in the mystery of our redemption, may have grace to take up our cross and follow Him; who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God, in glory everlasting. Amen."

“Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?”

† Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment.

And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ 💚❤️💜

- Matthew 22:36-39

Loving God, stir our hearts this Juneteenth, that we would repent for the incalculable sins committed against our brothers and sisters. Replace apathy, enmity & hate with love, compassion & care for one another--as you have modeled & shown to all mankind. Amen. 🙏🏼

🕊️ Peace: something we innately long for.

When Jesus ☩ was preparing to return to heaven following his death & resurrection, he spent precious moments speaking powerful words to his beloved disciples. These words were life-giving & empowering enough to inspire his disciples to spread his story throughout the ancient world. Jesus' words are words we also desperately need to hear today.
