The Day of Pentecost, "the birthday of the Christian Church." This festival derives its name from the Jewish festival of Pentecost, observed fifty days after Passover. On the fiftieth day of Easter, we celebrate the Holy Spirit as the power of God among us that heals, forgives, inspires and unites. In the reading from Acts 2:1-21 images of wind and fire describe the Spirit poured out on disciples of all nations. In John's gospel the Risen Christ breathes the Spirit on his followers on Easter evening. In the one Spirit we are baptized into one body; and at the Lord's table the Spirit unites us for witness in the world.
Having a little fun whenever the word "Spirit" was heard in the lessons, etc.!!

On Sunday, June 7th, we will be gathering to honor Pastor Barbara Knutson on the occasion of her 30th Anniversary of Ordination. Her three decades of faithful ministry have been a blessing to so many within our community, and we look forward to recognizing her service together.

Date: Sunday, June 7th 2026
Time: Immediately following our 9am worship service
Location: French Creek Lutheran Church lower level fellowship hall

We will host a reception in her honor immediately after the service. We would be delighted to have members of your congregation and friends of Pastor Barb join us for this joyous milestone.
