SECURITY ALERT: Active Phishing Attempt
Please be aware that an active phishing scam is currently circulating via email impersonating Bishop Felix Malpica.
• Important Context: Bishop Felix remains on sabbatical until after Labor Day and is not sending emails to anyone during this time. Any message claiming to be from him right now is fraudulent.
• What to watch for: Scammers are using fake email addresses (often using external domains like Gmail instead of the official Synod domain) requesting urgent assistance, discreet communication, gift cards, or financial transfers.
• What to do: Do not reply, click links, or purchase anything. Neither Bishop Malpica nor the Synod staff will ever solicit gift cards, wire transfers, or immediate financial assistance in such a vague manner via email.
If you receive a suspicious email, please mark it as spam/phishing in your email system and notify the Synod office (if we haven't sent out an email like this yet).
