Our EUMC Potato Booth at the Kittitas County Fair is coming up in just a few weeks, and we would love your help! This event is our biggest fundraiser of the year, and is also a great opportunity to connect with our community and get to know others in your EUMC church family better.

FAIRGROUNDS HELP -- There are a handful of shifts remaining at the fairgrounds at the booth, where we assemble and serve potatoes and scones. If you sign up, please sign up for the “Helper” slots unless you connect with me directly beforehand, as the lead and cashier positions require a bit more preparation. Fairgrounds shifts include a free admission ticket to the fair for the day of your shift.

KITCHEN HELP -- There are a LOT of shifts remaining in the kitchen at Ellensburg UMC, where we clean and bake the potatoes, and make/bake the scones, before they’re transported to the fairgrounds. Please sign up for the “Helper” slots unless you connect with me beforehand, as the lead and runner positions require a bit more preparation.

Join us in prayer for people in eastern Washington state, especially near Spokane, who are under threat from wildfires. Pray that those who must evacuate do so safely. Pray also for first responders working to contain the fires and helping those in need of assistance. As Gov. Bob Ferguson stated, “If you are in the area, please continue to be vigilant and follow directions of emergency personnel.”

UMCOR is in communication with the The Pacific Northwest Conference of The United Methodist Church CDRC and stand ready to assist their recovery efforts as needed.

Nonbinary Awareness Week celebrates gender diversity, raises awareness of nonbinary people, and draws attention to the experiences and challenges they face.

Nonbinary is an umbrella term for people whose gender identity exists beyond the categories of male or female.

The United Methodist Social Principles affirm the sacred worth of all people and the equal rights, liberties and protections of all people, regardless of gender identity. They reject any act of discrimination, hatred and violence and challenge policies that deny basic rights or discriminate against people—including children and young people—because of their gender identity.
