THE ARCHDIOCESE OF OKC IS ASKING US TO COMPLETE OUR ONLINE SAFE ENVIRONMENT TRAINING BY AUGUST 30. HOWEVER, VOLUNTEER WORK WITH CHILDREN AND/OR VULNERABLE ADULTS IS NOT ALLOWED UNTIL WE ARE SAFE ENVIRONMENT COMPLIANT. THIS MEANS EVEN THOUGH IT IS NOT AUGUST 30 YET, WE ARE NOT TO VOLUNTEER UNTIL WE COMPLETE THE ONLINE TRAINING AND RECEIVE OUR ONLINE CERTIFICATE. I HOPE THIS CLEARS UP ANY CONFUSSION. WE ARE GIVEN UNTIL AUGUST 30 FOR ACCESS TO THE ONLINE PORTAL, BUT VOLUNTEER WORK CANNOT HAPPEN UNTIL IT IS COMPLETE. QUESTIONS? MS KIM 405-274-2042

La Arquidiócesis de OKC nos pide que completemos la capacitación en línea sobre un "Entorno Seguro" (Safe Environment) antes del 30 de agosto. Sin embargo, no se permite realizar trabajo voluntario con niños y/o adultos vulnerables hasta que hayamos cumplido con los requisitos de dicha capacitación. THE SHEPHERD COMES HOME TO THE BIG SCREEN
The 89er Theatre in Kingfisher, OK is honored and blessed to bring American Martyr: The Stanley Rother Story to the big screen, just a short distance from Blessed Stanley Rother’s hometown of Okarche.

Thursday, August 27, dubbed in Spanish at 2:00 and 5:00 p.m.

Narrated by acclaimed actor Martin Sheen, this feature-length documentary tells the true story of Father Stanley Rother, an Oklahoma farm boy who answered the call to the priesthood and devoted his life to serving the Indigenous Tz’utujil people of Santiago Atitlán, Guatemala.
During Guatemala’s brutal civil war, Father Stan immersed himself in the life of the community. He learned the Tz’utujil language, shared in the people’s suffering, helped translate the New Testament, and became a beloved spiritual father. As violence and persecution closed in, he remained faithful to his calling, believing that “the shepherd cannot run.”
Father Stan ultimately gave his life rather than abandon his people. American Martyr shares the extraordinary witness of Blessed Stanley Rother, whose courage, sacrificial love, and unwavering faith continue to inspire people around the world.
