A New Version of the Serenity Prayer

SERENITY PRAYER
The Serenity Prayer for Adult Children of Alcoholics reads:
“God, grant me the serenity to accept the people I cannot change, the wisdom to change the one I can, and the courage to know that one is me.”
Peace, my brother.

Reaching out...

02/10/2020

Watching someone you love, that has fought so hard to beat addiction, throw everything away and sink back onto a life that will most likely lead to jail or death, is one of the hardest things you will ever do. You want to help them back to a clean and sober life but you realize by doing this, as you have so many times before, will now just be enabling them because it will show them that you will always be there to bail them out. You want to grab and shake them and say "What are you doing" but at some point you realize that it wouldnt make a difference. So you sit back and watch the tradgey unfold, as if you are watching a movie. Feeling helpless to stop it, feeling like you haven't done enough to help, even though you know only the addict can help themselves.

Loving a drug addict or an active alcoholic is the hardest thing you will ever have to go through. I have friends and family who have gone through this battle.
Battling a drug and/or an alcohol addiction is a beast for the person addicted and the ones who love them. So l am asking you to stand with me in prayer for every family member and friend who has lost their battle with drugs and alcohol and those who continue to conquer it! Put this on your page for one hour if you know someone who has or had an addiction. Many will be hesitant to copy and paste this. Some of you won't paste this but I think I know the ones who will. And thanks in advance!

So Jesus answered and said to them, “Have faith in God.For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be removed and be cast into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says. - Mark 11:22-23

My ancestry is British/German. We are all refugees except the American Indian.

"I value the freedom in this country.
I value the lives that fought for that freedom.
I value the lives of those that currently defend it.
I value the mixing pot of every race that is American. When we block those who want to become citizens be cause of skin color, then we admit we are racists. I'm ashamed of those politicians who refuse to give them the same right for admission as were our ancestors who were admitted to this great land. Americans were guilty of the plight and abuse of the American Indian, the American black man and the American Japanese who also felt the sting of prejudices against them. Racism was a stain of blood against our forefathers.
Must we once again repeat the sins of our ancestors?
Do we once again place Jesus on the cross and crucify Him?
If our hearts are not right then we must remember,
If we allow this then one day they will come for us!"

JAYS SONG
Summer, fall, winter and spring,

Through them all I've learned to sing,

Of depths of sorrow,

Heights of joy and love.

Because The Master has blessed me with the Spirit of the dove.

Before the song I was in pain,

Drinking from the Cup of Wrath to my disdain.

I fell to my knees and cried out to God,

Please Lord, deliver me from this body of sod.

The Master then guided my trembling hands,

Showing me offenses that could not stand.

The Masters plan for me was good,

As I cried out for mercy

Besides me He stood.

He gently took my hand and said,

My Blessed Son let pride be still!

You are now guided by My Holy Will.

He delivered me both body and soul,

His indwelling Spirit showed me my goal,

To end the worldly desires of my restless days,

He changed my will and put straight my ways. ©
