It is of great joy when you see your church body coming together to give to their community. It is an even greater joy when the ideas on how to serve your community come to fruition and all because of a youth member in your church!

This past summer, San Pablo Lutheran Church adopted Douglas Elementary School and was able to provide the whole school with backpacks! We told them if we could serve them in any other way, to please reach out. And they did! They expressed the need for socks and underwear. Our youth member, Azul Saucedo, came to the rescue and understood her mission! She, along with her amazing mom Vanessa, set up sock and underwear drives in their neighborhood and collected these much needed items. Today, they delivered those items to Douglas Elementary School.

Thank you to all who supported this drive and helped our young members of our church be involved and so giving! I think we can make Azul’s Heart Drive an annual thing! Why Azul’s Heart? Because if you meet Azul you know that she is a very giving and loving young lady. A true Heart of gold this child has! She sees a need and wants to help! We are blessed with you Azul!
