Today we celebrate the first turn of the Wheel of Dharma, the very first teaching of Shakyamuni Buddha in Sarnath after his awakening:

The Four Noble Truths serve as Buddhism's essential diagnostic map for human existence, treating the psychological fractures of life with rigorous compassion. This teaching begins by acknowledging Duḥkha, the universal friction and bittersweet impermanence that clouds ordinary experience like smoke. It traces this chronic ache to Samudaya, the frantic, thirsting attachments of the untamed mind that constantly craves what it cannot hold. Yet, this philosophy refuses to leave humanity stranded in despair; it introduces Nirodha, the luminous promise that the fires of clinging can be completely extinguished, giving way to profound peace. Finally, it delivers Mārga, a beautifully structured, highly practical map of daily conduct and mindfulness designed to guide seekers step-by-step out of confusion and into absolute liberation.
