Weekstown Community Church

Weekstown Community Church The Weekstown Community Church is a non-denominational, Bible preaching church. We are a church that loves the Lord and His Word.

Church History

At the turn of the 20th century, people from Weekstown were traveling the three or four miles to worship at the church across the river in Green Bank. Early in this century, they felt the Lord’s call to build a church within their own community. The building was completed in 1915. It was then known and remained known as the "Snyder M.E. Church" until it was withdrawn from the Unite

d Methodist Church. It was called “Snyder” to honor a popular District Superintendent in the Methodist Episcopal Church of that era. In 1939 the Methodist Episcopal, Methodist Episcopal South and the Methodist Protestant churches merged to become the Methodist Church. In 1969 another merger took place when the Methodist Church joined with another denomination known as the Evangelical United Brethren. The United Methodist Church of today is the result of that union. After this consolidation, the United Methodist Church became increasingly liberal in its policies and practices, until the Weekstown congregation felt they could no longer subscribe to such doctrines nor support them. On May 22, 1990, a unanimous vote of the Administrative Board approved withdrawal from the Southern New Jersey Conference of the United Methodist Church. Since the treasury and building belonged to the Conference, Weekstown became a congregation without a church or money. They sought and received permission to hold services in the Volunteer Fire Company's hall on May 27, 1990. Weekstown Community Church was incorporated in the State of New Jersey August 1, 1990. Ultimately, the congregation received permission to purchase the Church building from the United Methodist Conference. During the same time, land was donated and a parsonage was built. The original Church building (the one built in 1915) was a two-story structure. The sanctuary was located on the 2nd floor and the Sunday School Rooms were on the first floor. The sanctuary would hold approximately 60 people. A few years ago a chairlift was installed in one of the stairwells for those who were unable to climb stairs. In 2000 a local resident donated over 8 acres of land for a new Church building. The loyal congregation decided to start saving money so a new Church could be built. In early 2011 construction started and was completed in December 2013. The first service was held on December 22, 2013. The New Weekstown Community Church is all on one floor and has a sanctuary that will seat 150 people normally, extra chairs can be placed to accommodate more if necessary. Also included are 5 Sunday school rooms, a nursery, a small kitchen, a sound room, and a storage room in the overhead.

Have you ever experienced a health issue that sent you straight to the doctor or hospital? Most of us can answer that question with a resounding "Yes." We are blessed to live in a nation that offers the latest medical advancements and technologies. All of these wonderful innovations aid in restoring health and healing to the body, however, did you know there is something about which we should be more concerned-something greater than physical health? I am talking about the soul-the part of us that will live on long after our body is laid to rest. What is it to gain physical healing, but lose your soul? Yes, a person can have a healthy body, while all the time possess an unhealthy soul. Join us 9 AM Sunday as we look to the words of the Great Physician. It just might be time for a health-check of your soul.

We live in a world filled with evil, temptation, and spiritual attacks, but Daniel, chapter six, reminds us that even when God’s people find themselves surrounded by lions, they are never outside the presence of God. Daniel remained faithful even when it was dangerous-God saw him, stood with him, and shut the lions’ mouths. Our circumstances may change, but God does not. When we keep trusting Him, He is able to keep us, strengthen us, and rescue us-even in our darkest hour.

Join us 9 AM Sunday as we open the scriptures to reveal "The God who rescues."

We live in a world that is divided over politics, race, opinions, personalities, preferences, and countless other issues. Unfortunately, those divisions can sometimes find their way into the church. However, Paul reminds us that the church is not called to be a collection of individuals who happen to worship in the same building. We are one body, serving one Lord, with one faith and one hope. Join us 9 AM Sunday us as we unpack this instructional portion of scripture and learn what true unity in Christ entails.

Set your child on a lifelong path of faith, character, and purpose. If you want your children to build strong morals, practice respect, and show love to others, consider enrolling them in Awana. Research shows that introducing children to the Gospel early in life vastly increases the likelihood that they will trust and follow God into adulthood.

Awana is an exciting children's ministry where they will learn the wonderful principles that God has laid out in the Bible. In addition to this, your children will play games, make crafts, meet new friends and much more! Our Awana youth ministry offers three clubs, Cubbies (3 to 5 years old), Sparks (Kindergarten to 2nd grade) and Truth and Training (3rd to 6th grade). We also offer Youth Group for 7th to 12th grade. Awana resumes on Wednesday, September 9, 2026, and meets every Wednesday from 6:45pm to 8:15pm.

We would love to have your children participate in this wonderful ministry. There are many activities you can get your children involved in but there is only one that will make a life changing impact on your child and that is Awana! Register now by clicking the link below or by going to our website and clicking on Awana.

Sometimes the dedication of a single life can change the direction of an entire nation. Such was the case when Hannah dedicated her son, Samuel, to the Lord. As a result, God used that one dedicated life to influence the spiritual future of the whole nation of Israel. What begins with a parent’s commitment can become part of God’s purpose for a generation. Join us 9 AM Sunday as we unpack the scriptures to reveal the importance of dedicating a
child to God and the blessings that follow.
