Please join us in lifting up prayers for our siblings in Nepal as search and rescue is still underway from last week's flash floods and landslides.

PDA has processed a solidarity grant for our partner Juneli Nepal and we are working with our other partner in Nepal, TOGETHER FOR NEPAL, while they assess the needs to soon put in their grant request, as well.

For more information, including how to give to support this response, see our website. We will provide updates as they are available. https://pcusa.org/disaster-assistance/active-responses/international-disaster/nepal

Thank God For Teachers
It is sometimes said that public school teachers do not teach values. Yet every day, countless teachers quietly model compassion, patience, integrity and kindness through the way they care for their students.
Many teachers go far beyond lesson plans and classrooms. They spend their own money on school supplies, workbooks, clothing, snacks and special needs for children who may otherwise go without. They encourage struggling students, celebrate small victories and offer steady support to children facing difficult circumstances at home.
Teachers also work with students from many different backgrounds and abilities. Some patiently help children learn English, while others devote extra time and care to students with learning, emotional or social challenges. In a world where many children face poverty, abuse, loneliness, neglect or uncertainty, a caring teacher can become a source of hope, stability and encouragement.
Many educators also serve faithfully in churches and communities, living out their faith through daily acts of love and service. Their influence often reaches far beyond what grades or test scores can measure.
As a church family, let us remember to pray for teachers, encourage them in their calling and thank God for the important difference they make in the lives of children every day.

Dolly Parton is the rhinestone-clad prophet we need in our polarized times. — Lindy Vogado

Dear Godwinkers… EVERYBODY LOVED DOLLY! ❤️

She gave the world so much; beautiful music, laughter, kindness, and hope. But perhaps her greatest gift was the faith she carried in her heart.

She loved the Lord, and she was never ashamed to speak of Him.

Dolly talked about how Godwinks were all through her life. Perhaps the sweetest Godwink is knowing that the woman who spent so much of her life bringing joy and hope to others is now safely home with the Lord.

Dolly knew this life was only temporary. She understood that our greatest home is not here, but in eternity with God.

“To be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord.” — 2 Corinthians 5:8

We can imagine the Lord saying…
“Well done, thou good and faithful servant… enter thou into the joy of thy lord.” Matthew 25:21

America will always love you, Dolly. And heaven is rejoicing to welcome you home!♥
