Text: 2nd Cor 5:14-15
For the love of Christ constraineth us; because we thus judge, that if one died for all, then were all dead: And that he died for all, that they which live should not henceforth live unto themselves, but unto him which died for them, and rose again.

As always read all the context. In this case read verses 10 thru 21 of this chapter. This text is written to believers and references the judgment seat of Christ which is for believers. Also read 1st Cor 3:11-15.

Most professing christians go about their lives doing as they please. Not realizing we should be constrained by the work of the Holy Spirit so we live pleasing to our Lord Jesus Christ.

Finally, Jesus took away our sins by the shedding of his blood.
2nd Cor 5:21
For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.

The last days church
Rev. 3:14-22

An evangelist from the 20th century:
The last day church will be the most distracted in history. Distracted by making money, by comfort, entertainment, activities, noise and the things that stifle God from our worship. Our generation will drown in blessings while starving in burden. We will lose our tears, our urgency and agony that births revival. The future church will be full of motion but empty of devotion, loud on the stage but silent in intercession, rich in talent but poor in repentance.

God says about true worship: Ecc. 5:1-2
"Keep thy foot when thou goest to the house of God, AND BE MORE READY TO HEAR, than to give the sacrifice of fools: for they consider not that they do evil. Be not rash with thy mouth, and LET NOT THINE HEART BE HASTY TO UTTER ANY THING BEFORE GOD: for God is in heaven, and thou upon earth: therefore let thy words be few."

Help us oh God to turn back!

Remember the Cooke family in your prayers.

It is with sadness and rejoicing that we announce the homegoing of Dr. Ronald Cooke (1933-2026), President of our college and a faithful servant of Christ.

His passing, though he had been ill, came sooner than many of us expected. Yet even in announcing his death, there is something we must remember about the man himself: Dr. Cooke did not want attention drawn to himself.

He was very intentional about this.

When teaching his students, Dr. Cooke would tell of the Scottish missionary who had gone to the New Hebrides to preach the Gospel. When people gathered around him, they wanted to hear his stories—his adventures, his dangers, his experiences, and all that he had seen and accomplished on the mission field.
But the missionary did not tell them about himself.
He preached Jesus Christ and Him crucified.

When they pressed him again to tell them about his personal adventures, he responded with amazement that they would want to hear about a man who had come from the New Hebrides when the only name that truly mattered was Jesus.
That illustration was more than a lesson Dr. Cooke taught. It was a principle by which he lived.

He was a man from Ulster who was given the privilege of serving Christ, teaching students, preparing men and women for ministry, writing books, and proclaiming the Gospel. But he never wanted the story to end with Ronald Cooke.
He wanted it to end with Jesus.

So today, even as we mourn the loss of a beloved president, professor, mentor, and servant of God, we will honor his wishes. We will not make much of the servant.
We will make much of the Savior.

And if we could say what we believe he would want us to say today, it would simply be this:
Remember the Gospel.
Remember Christ.
Remember that Jesus is the only name that matters.

“Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.” Acts 4:12

“For I determined not to know any thing among you, save Jesus Christ, and Him crucified.”— 1 Corinthians 2:2

Thought for today
Ps. 147-4-5
(The Holy Spirit instructed this writer to write this)

Ps .147:4
He telleth the NUMBER of the stars;
He calleth them ALL by their NAMES.

Ps. 147:5
Great is our LORD and of great power: his understanding is INFINITE.

Thank you for your prayers during these rough and dark times.

Sun. Nite devotion
"Almost"

Unusual this word almost. It appears 11 times in the Bible. Lets look at one of the most well known verses.

Acts 26:28
Then Agrippa said unto Paul, Almost thou persuadest me to be a Christian.

And so it is today. The Bible teaches us that to be saved, we must put all our belief (faith) in Jesus Christ. Repentance is a fruit of belief. Have you been "converted"? Read Acts 3:19:
"Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord."

Churches all over our area are full of people almost saved. How sad. Dont find yourself almost saved, but fully lost.

Luke 24:47
And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.

Sunday School: Jeremiah 31:1-14. God Reconciles His People.

Lords Day Scripture: Romans 5: 20-21.

20 Moreover the law entered, that the offence might abound. But where sin abounded, grace did much more abound:

21 That as sin hath reigned unto death, even so might grace reign through righteousness unto eternal life by Jesus Christ our Lord.

Wed. Nite devotion
"Jesus is the sweetest name I know!"

What does the Bible mean to us? A book carried to church? A book that sets on a shelf and gathers dust? Below are a few verses for us to consider.

Ps. 34:8 O taste and see the LORD is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him.

Ps. 119:103 How sweet are thy words unto my taste! Yea, sweeter than honey to my mouth!

Ps. 19:10 More to be desired are they than gold, yea, than much fine gold: sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb.

Jer. 15:16 Thy words were found, and I did eat them; and thy word was unto me the joy and rejoicing of mine heart: for I am called by thy name, O LORD God of hosts.

Are we tasting the wonderful sweetness of Gods word?

Jesus Is the sweetest name I know

Selah! Think on these things.
