Roubi Eliopoulos, who is on the Board (known as the Session) of South Church, started her career in retail merchandising at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. After retiring from teaching, the long-time Dobbs Ferry resident dedicated herself to the community, chairing Dobbs Ferry Pollinator Pathway, caring for the Labyrinth Pollinator Garden, and as president of the Dobbs Ferry Garden Club.
When the opportunity arose to manage the Holiday Market at the Manse, she stepped into the role with ease. “We have an amazing team,” she said. “From serving lunch to decorating the Manse to be a holiday wonderland, South Church community’s creativity astounds me.”
Last year was the first Holiday Market at the Manse. The one-day event was full of connections and holiday cheer. Roubi’s personal favorites included Olga’s hand-knit hats (knit in Germany, delivered to Dobbs Ferry), handmade pottery and ceramics by Lucy Beaumont Clay and cookies from the Felkay Project, both out of Croton.
“I’m looking for more hand-crafted, Hudson Valley items,” she said. “Just thinking about visitors enjoying our 1869 Manse together makes me happy.”
The Holiday Market at the Manse is Friday, November 20th Preview / Cocktail Reception 5 – 7pm and Saturday, November 21 Open to Public 10am - 4pm. All proceeds support South Church's mission and community programs.
