Historic Motor City Missionary Baptist Church

Historic Motor City Missionary Baptist Church On Palm Sunday, March 19, 1967, its founding Pastor, the late Reverend John W. Haynes, in the basement of his home, formed Motor City Mission.

In 1969, this mission moved to 5100 30th Street, and was organized as Motor City Missionary Baptist Church. In 1978 the church moved into its current facility, the former Gethsemane Lutheran Church, which was erected in 1891.
