Sunday Morning Sermon, July 12th 2026

Question: In a recent survey, 17% of people say this ruins their day if it happens first thing in the morning. What is it?
Answer: Getting snubbed by a co-worker!

Do you agree with these survey findings? Getting snubbed by anyone can be discouraging. It can make us sad, anxious, and angry, especially when a relationship, job, or our identity feel threatened. In moments like these, what might be revealed to us is where we are really putting our hope, our trust, or our security. While pastor Jill is serving with our mission team at Young Lives, pastor Jim Emig is back, bringing us a sermon on this very subject. It's the next in our series on the book of Daniel, called "I Pledge Allegiance."

Sunday Morning Sermon, July 5th 2026

Question: Since the fourth century, it's been believed that THIS can reveal hundreds of your personality traits, and even predict your job performance. What is it?
Answer: Your handwriting!

The study of handwriting, Graphology (how someone writes), has long been thought to show us a lot about a person. But rigorous, peer-reviewed studies consistently show that graphologists perform no better than chance at predicting personality traits or job performance.

While HOW we write might not say much about us, certainly WHAT we write communicates important things about what we think, feel, and value. In our scripture passage today, both HOW and WHAT God wrote to a particular king revealed what lies in the hearts of people and what God values. As we continue our series on Living in Exile, pastor Jill brings us a sermon from Daniel 5 called "Who's In Charge?"

Sunday Morning Sermon, June 28th 2026

Question: The average person has about six of these in their life. What is it?
Answer: People who will tell them the truth!

If you think about it, how many people do you have in your life who will tell you the truth, even if it might sting a bit? A better question might be, do you listen to those people when they do speak up?

When we have trusted people in our lives who will tell us the truth, and we take their thoughts seriously, it can really help us stay out of trouble, correct harmful behaviors, keep us humble and teachable, and help us hear the voice of God, unlike the writer of Daniel chapter 4 who was given some really helpful advice and ignored it.

Today a trusted friend of Celebration, pastor Jim Emig, continues our series on Living in Exile. He's bring us a word from the heart of God to ours, focusing on the events of Daniel chapter 4 in a sermon called "Three Truths."
