Today we honor Juneteenth, a day that commemorates the announcement of freedom to enslaved people in the last U.S. state to receive the news of emancipation.

As believers, we celebrate whenever justice comes to those who have been oppressed. Scripture reminds us that God is a God of justice, freedom, and liberation. He hears the cries of the broken, defends the vulnerable, and calls His people to love mercy, seek justice, and walk humbly with Him.

Today we remember the past, celebrate freedom, and continue pursuing a world that reflects God’s heart for justice and dignity for all.

Heavenly Father,

Today we lift up every VE student to You. Thank You for the gifts, talents, and purpose You have placed inside each of them. We pray that You would guide their steps, protect their hearts, and draw them closer to You each day.

Give them wisdom as they make decisions, strength when they face challenges, and courage to stand firm in their faith. Surround them with godly friendships and mentors who will encourage them to pursue Your calling for their lives.

When they feel uncertain, remind them that their identity is found in You. When they feel overwhelmed, give them peace. When they face obstacles, help them trust that You are working all things together for their good.

Lord, ignite a passion within them to know You more, serve others well, and make an impact for Your kingdom. Let this be a season of growth, transformation, and deeper faith.

We declare Your favor, protection, and blessing over every student, leader, and family connected to VE.

For four weeks, we’re bringing real movie clips into the message to illustrate biblical truths in a fun, creative, and powerful way. From movie-themed environments and snacks to experiences for every age, it’s a series your whole family will love.

This is also a great opportunity to use your gifts to help create a welcoming and unforgettable experience for every person who walks through our doors. Whether it’s greeting guests, serving concessions, helping in Cove Kids, or joining a build team, there’s a place for you.
