In the Bible, Jesus describes Himself as meek and humble of heart (Matthew 11:29). In Christian teaching, meekness is strength under control.

Meekness is like having the power to fight back, but choosing peace instead. It’s when you stay calm in an argument, forgive when it’s hard, or listen when you want to speak.

Jesus said, “Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth” (Matthew 5:5). That is because meekness opens your heart to real peace and freedom - it lets you respond instead of just reacting.
