“I will not let You go unless You bless me.”

Jacob didn’t wrestle because he wanted another possession.

He wrestled because he knew only God could restore what was missing.

Sometimes breakthrough isn’t found in performing…

It’s found in refusing to leave God’s presence too quickly.

Stay with Him.

Jacob left God’s presence…

Still limping.

Still facing tomorrow’s problems.

Still on his way to meet Esau.

But he left different.

The evidence of God’s presence isn’t always that your situation changed overnight.

Sometimes the greatest evidence is that you now have peace in the middle of what used to break you.

That’s shalom.

Nothing missing.
Nothing broken.
Because the Prince of Peace is with you.

We often pray for God to bless us with something.

Jacob teaches us something different.

The greatest blessing wasn’t more possessions.

It wasn’t more influence.

It wasn’t a changed circumstance.

The blessing was who Jacob became.

God changed his name…
because God changed his identity.

The greatest blessing is becoming the person God created you to be.

When God asked Jacob, “What’s your name?”

He wasn’t asking for information.

He was asking for honesty.

“Jacob.”

Heel-grabber.
Manipulator.
Deceiver.

No pretending.
No titles.
No performance.

Transformation begins where honesty begins.

God can’t heal the version of us we’re pretending to be.
