THIS SUNDAY, September 13th at 10 a.m. - Dearborn First UMC is celebrating 100 years in its current building at the corner of Garrison and Mason Streets - the 4th building in its history as Michigan's oldest continuous Protestant congregation, beginning officially in 1810. Because PEOPLE make a church, not just its walls - the community is invited to take part in the rededication of our building at 10 a.m. - taken from the same dedication service in 1926! Then at 11:15, enjoy catered lunch from food trucks, take a self-guided tour to experience its rich history, or take part in a photo scavenger hunt! This weekend we honor and recognize the workers. The first Labor Day was established as a federal holiday more than 130 years ago to advocate for fairness and justice in the workplace. It is a tribute to the social and economic achievements of the American worker.
