Thoughts and prayers are more than words.

Prayer and intercession should move us toward people—not away from them. In Matthew 18:15–20, Jesus connects prayer with the hard, holy work of showing up, speaking truth, seeking reconciliation, and caring for one another.

Join us Sundays at 10:30 AM for “Thoughts and Prayers” as we explore what it means to turn our prayers into real love, real care, and real relationships.

🌬️ EXHALE: FINALE 🌬️

Take a breath.

Not the kind of breath you take before getting back to work.
Not the breath you hold while trying to keep everything together.
Just… breathe.

For the finale of REST IS RESISTANCE, we’re turning our attention to the most basic—and perhaps most sacred—practice of rest: breathing.

Every breath is a reminder that life is not something we manufacture. It is something we receive.

What would happen if we stopped holding our breath for the next crisis, the next deadline, the next demand—and trusted God enough to exhale?

Join us Sunday, August 30 at 10:30 AM as we close this series with EXHALE: FINALE.

Come breathe.
Come rest.
Come remember that you are more than what you produce.

DO NOTHING SUNDAY
What if Sunday wasn’t about doing more—but about making space to simply be?
Join us this Sunday, August 23 at 10:30 AM at Jamieson Garden for a time of meditation, contemplation, prayer, and rest.
Bring a lawn chair, a blanket, or whatever helps you get comfortable. Come as you are. There’s nothing to accomplish, nowhere else you need to be, and nothing you need to prove.
Just breathe.
Be present.
Listen.
Pray.
Rest.
And when we’re done… sundaes & ice cream will follow from the Local 937! 🍦
Come practice the sacred art of doing nothing with us. 💙

DO NOT DISTURB. 💤✋🏾

What if rest isn’t something we earn after we’ve finished the work—but something God invites us to receive right now?

In Mark 1:34, people are trying to track down Jesus; sound familiar? As we continue our REST IS RESISTANCE series, we’re making room to pause, breathe, and challenge a culture that tells us we must always be productive, available, and “on.”

Sunday, August 16 at 10:30 AM, we’ll explore what it means to protect our rest and recognize that sometimes saying “Do not disturb” is an act of faith.

Inspired by Tricia Hersey’s Rest Is Resistance, we’ll consider rest not as laziness, but as resistance, restoration, and trust in God.

What if God's invitation isn't to work harder—but to lie down and take a nap?

In Mark 4, Jesus is asleep at the wheel of the ship, when the boat starts taking on water in the middle of the storm. The disciples are bailing out water and ask “Don’t you care if we drown, Lord” Jesus simply gets up and says “Peace! Be still.”

That is our invitation too: to rest in the darkness and storm.

Join us for Rest Is Resistance: Accepting God's Invitation to Reset, a worship series inspired by Tricia Hersey's book, Rest Is Resistance. Together we'll explore how choosing rest becomes an act of faith, freedom, and trust in a world that tells us our worth is measured by our productivity.
