A celebration of Steven's life will be held at Destiny Church on Wednesday, October 21, 2026, at 6:00 pm. Family and friends are invited to gather to honor his memory and celebrate the life he shared with so many.

Steven Raymond Salas, 72, went to be with the Lord on October 12, 2026, following a sudden illness. His passing was unexpected and our hearts mourn for our dear friend and family member.
Born on July 22, 1954, Steven and his brothers grew up in Southern California, where they lived until the passing of their mother, Rebecca Joann Caughell, in 2010. In December of that year, they moved to Alabama with their stepfather, Butch Caughell. Butch and Rebecca shared 28 years of marriage, and the bond between Butch, Steven and his brothers was as strong as any bond of blood.
Music was at the heart of Steven's life. In the 70’s, Steven played professionally with the alternative country music band, Santa Fe. After giving his life to Christ, he devoted his musical gifts to serving the Lord in churches and revivals across the country. As a member of Destiny Church, Steven faithfully served on the worship team for nearly a decade. His music, friendship, and presence will be deeply missed by his church family.
Steven was also a beloved member of the Staples Office Supply team. His work was more than a job to him, and he considered his fellow employees as close family.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Rebecca Joann Caughell. He is survived by his brothers, Gregory John Salas (69) and Daniel Lee Salas (65), both of Loxley, his stepfather, Butch Caughell of Robertsdale, and his stepsisters, Valerie Williams (57) of Fairhope, and Terisa Weets (55) of Robertsdale.
