What a wonderful Sunday worshipping together at Shore Light Baptist Church! ☀️🙌🏼

We were looking forward to celebrating five years of God’s goodness with you this past Sunday, but due to the hurricane, we’ve had to move our celebration to NEXT SUNDAY! 🎉

Keep it on your calendars! We’ll have a bounce house, lunch on the grounds, and face painting for the kids. We can’t wait to celebrate with you!

Although our anniversary celebration was postponed, that didn’t stop us from gathering to worship Jesus! ❤️

Pastor Andrew brought a powerful message from Acts 9, reminding us that Aeneas was a walking testimony of the power of Jesus. During prolonged seasons of trials, it can be easy to compare our journey to someone else’s. But Aeneas had been waiting eight years for his miracle, and when Jesus healed him, all who lived in Lydda and Sharon turned to the Lord!

We were also reminded of the incredible power of the Holy Spirit through the raising of Tabitha back to life. What a beautiful picture of how God can work through His people to accomplish His purposes!

Pastor Andrew shared a quote that will stay with us for a long time: “Our goals as Christians should be to preach the Gospel, die, and be forgotten.”

What a powerful reminder that it’s not about us, our recognition, or our accomplishments. It’s all about Jesus and the work He does through us!

Pastor closed by reminding us how Jesus tore down cultural barriers. No one was beyond His reach. No one was too far gone. No one was impossible for Him!

May we live our lives pointing others to Jesus, trusting His timing, and remembering that the glory belongs to Him alone. 🙏

We’ll see you NEXT SUNDAY as we celebrate five years of God’s faithfulness at Shore Light Baptist Church! 🎂🎈

Who have you quietly decided isn’t “your kind of people”?

Simon the tanner was unclean by trade, avoided by his own religious community. Peter didn’t avoid him. He stayed in his home for days.

Red and yellow, black and white, they are precious in His sight. Jesus never had a list of who was in and who was out. Neither should we. And that’s who Shore Light will always be: a place that loves everyone, no exceptions.

📢RESCHEDULE📢

Shore Light members and friends of the community:

Because of inclement weather conditions, we will be postponing our 5 year anniversary celebration. It’s not ideal, but we have to do what is best regarding Hurricane Isaias. At this time, Sunday services are scheduled as normal but just not the big celebration. We will keep you posted as know more.

Praying for all of those that are preparing for the storm. Stay safe!

Sundays at Shore Light 🤍

Yesterday, we heard a powerful message from Acts 9 about Ananias, Saul, and the healing journey that unfolded on Straight Street.

When God called people by name throughout Scripture, they were ready to jump in and serve. That willingness is a mark of a believer. The greatest ability is availability.

Ananias had fear and trepidation. He knew Saul’s reputation, and he had every human reason to hesitate. But fear didn’t make him a bad Christian, it made him human. Faith meant taking that next step anyway.

“Behold, I am here, Lord.” — Acts 9:10

And because Ananias was willing to obey, God used him in Saul’s life at a pivotal moment.

The believers in Damascus also came alongside Saul, meeting both his physical and spiritual needs. What a beautiful picture of the body of Christ! Believers serving one another, caring for one another, and being willing to step into whatever God has called them to do.

Every Sunday on the Eastern Shore, believers come together to serve Jesus and love on other believers. Some teach. Some sing. Some pray. Some welcome. Some encourage. Some serve behind the scenes. Every act of service matters when it is done for the Lord.

“...Lord, what wilt thou have me to do?” — Acts 9:6

Maybe you have some fear. Maybe you feel unqualified. Maybe you’re wondering if God could really use you.

Take the step.

The greatest ability is availability. ❤️

In Acts 9, Saul went to the high priest and asked for official letters, government backed authority, to go hunt down Christians. He had the paperwork. He had the approval of the people in charge. And he was still dead wrong.

Here’s the point: just because something has the government’s stamp on it, or the majority’s approval, doesn’t mean it’s right. It doesn’t mean it’s Biblical. Saul had legal permission to do what he was doing, and he was still persecuting the church.

Popular opinion isn’t truth. A law isn’t automatically righteousness. The only standard that doesn’t shift with culture or courts is the Word of God, and that’s where we have to plant our feet.
