I don't agree 100% with anyone's theology—and that includes Benny Hinn.
What I will say is this: through the years, Benny Hinn taught me how to minister to the Lord and how to cultivate a personal relationship with the Holy Spirit. The revelation that the Holy Spirit is a Person was, by itself, life-changing.
In December 2008, Benny laid hands on me during a Fire Conference. As he approached me, I looked into his eyes, and in that very moment I heard the Holy Spirit speak to my heart:
"Stop pretending to be as close to Me as Benny is. Surrender."
For a second or two, as I looked into Benny's eyes, it was as though a torch was burning behind the eyes of a dead man. Again I heard those same words:
"Surrender."
Benny never spoke anything to me except, "Fire on you!"
I fell under the power of God. During the four-hour drive home that night, I audibly heard angels singing. In the midst of that heavenly worship, I heard the Lord ask me:
"Imagine if I could move in local churches the way I was allowed to move in that auditorium."
That moment forever changed my life.
Ladies and gentlemen, I won't defend Benny Hinn as a man because I don't personally know him. But I will defend the anointing I witnessed and experienced through his ministry until the day I die, because I know what God did in my life.
I know the Holy Spirit more intimately because of Benny Hinn's teaching. I learned the practice of God's presence because of Benny Hinn. I learned how to cultivate an atmosphere where people can encounter the presence of God because of Benny Hinn.
I'm not writing this to defend a person. I'm simply expressing gratitude.
So to Benny Hinn, I say:
Thank you for your sacrifices and the price you have and continue to pay .
Thank you Tasha Hinn Suzanne Hinn and Sam Hinn Michael Koulianos for sharing your family member with us all . ... sacrificially.... I am a life that was changed !
